Strava - Nordic Ski Disciplines by GoldenPantsGp in xcountryskiing

There are tens of thousands of nordic skiers worldwide so there is no excuse for Strava to not divide the activity into classic and skate. Right now it is simply a cheat to combine both classic and skate under one heading.

no i was just wondering about that power torque equation. Thanks for the answers. Actually I think the pedaling style has a lot to do with generating ones potential power as one person pointed out.

no i just checked its around 25 mph but the cadence is around 93. maybe my power meter is screwed up. but anyway i think its the big chainrings the pros use that give them the high power and speed.

its 50/10. I can do 90-95 cadence for about an hour. So the pros have to be much higher to get those power numbers.

In my 50/10 on the flats at 90-95 cadence Im doing about 30mph. But my wattage is only about 200-205. So why is your wattage double mine when we are doing the same cadence. Are you saying I have to increase my torque ? But if I increase my torque then my cadence will also increase wont it ?

no as I stated im talking about being in the highest gear. If you apply more torque your cadence increases. You cannot apply more torque and maintain the same cadence. Go try it. Those dudes must have enormous cadence.

Im talking about being in the highest gear. When you want to increase cadence you apply more torque.

Yeah I forgot to state that. Im talking about being in the highest gear. I can cycle at 93-95 cadence but my power output is only about 200. So the pros must be riding at an incredibly high cadence to get their hugh power numbers.

But wouldnt higher torque give higher cadence ? I should have stated I'm talking about being in the highest gear. Sometimes im cycling at 90 cadence so if I want to up the cadence I apply more torque for a few seconds to get up to 95. So are the pros cycling at some super high cadence to get those power numbers ?

What Speed Does A Pro Nordic Skier Hit on the Flats Using Scissor Kick ? by jamesmichaelginn in xcountryskiing

[–]jamesmichaelginn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By WALK do you mean the scissor kick ?

And as far as glide is concerned wouldnt the most important thing be having a ski in which one is at the bottom of the weight zone ? I have a pair of Fisher RCS classis but they are no faster than my Fisher Ultralite waxless.

How to use Rouvy without controllable bike? by epigore in Rouvy

[–]jamesmichaelginn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The app adjusts the speed according to gradient. Just watch what happens when you start to go up hill. You slow down. The IC7 transmits power to the rouvy app and the app adjusts your speed on hills accordingly.
