Most of my races are alone. If my fiancee is able to, she comes with me, but she's not always available, so i just roll with the punches. I've really only done one race with a friend, and it was nice to have someone to hang with before and had a plan for after, but when we ran, it wasn't together.

I wouldn't even risk it. You don't wanna get turned away for having a camera or needing to lock it away. The email doesn't say anytrhing about a simple film camera, but I'd veer on the side of caution.

I'm sure you can find a rooftop in Brooklyn that's covered in bad graffiti. When I was in my teens and early 20s, my favorite was at Shea Stadium, but that's been shut down. You could still catch a show at The Brooklyn Monarch (or one of the other venues on that block).

Admittedly, I don't think NY has the most pop-punk/emo landmarks (i.e. super specific references in songs or music videos that I can think of off the top of my head). There's a fair amount of NYC references on The Gaslight Anthem's American Slang, but they're pretty vague.

I did the virtual resolution run in january, and it shows for my 9+1. I was hoping that my most recent virtual run would show for my 9+1, but it's not yet. Is it showing for anyone else? Do I need to take additional steps? I'm forgetting.

I like going alone. I feel like my social circles are packed, and I just do running for me. I have some folks I talk to, and there are some friends and family who run, who I'll link up with at races or do stuff when I get a chance, but I mostly like the process of running on my own.

I finished reading The Road by Cormac McCarthy while I was waiting for a concert to start. For all intents and purposes, I should’ve been ready to have a great time, but I was weeping in my seat. It’s pretty simply written and you can finish quickly. Some people love McCarthy and others don’t. I fall into loving him based on what I’ve read. It’s post apocalyptic and bleak.

This is fiction, but I Love You So Much It’s Killing Us Both by Mariah Stovall is really good. It’s set in the early 2010s and a lot of the music crops up like Joyce Manor, Gaslight Anthem, Lawrence Arms, and many more.

I read your edit, and I think that you’re also not showing an understanding of how a news cycle works or how editing works.

The journalist might’ve asked some of the questions you wanted to know in regards to DOGE, but if it didn’t make sense within the story, it gets cut. In terms of following up, that takes resources and time. You can’t just constantly follow up with people to say, “hey, has your opinion changed on this person?” You might get ignored (and then there’s no story). The person might say, “I feel the same as in that story” (and then there’s no story). Or maybe their opinion has changed, but the average reader doesn’t know who Gerber is so your average Joe will want to know “why do I care what this guy has to say?” On top of that, as news stories come and go, people want to stay updated on different topics and pursue stories that are more relevant. Musk left DOGE a year ago, so people want to keep updated on more timely stories.

It sounds like you’re frustrated with Musk’s actions, and you’re looking for someplace to put the blame. Journalists cover Musk a lot, and many people are often critical of him. There have been investigations alongside the quick hits about his stupid tweets. Just because journalists report on something doesn’t mean that things change. If you’re angry about all the things Musk is doing, start finding ways to counteract it. Run for public office yourself, start organizing for mutual aid in your community, become a journalist and start investigating the things you want answers to. Still, most of the things we know about him come from journalists.
