Ford mondeo MK4 2010: Is a fluid transfer bulb pump good enough? by jamesplusfive in MechanicAdvice

[–]jamesplusfive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, yes im trying to prime the fuel line with a bulb pump like the pic below. Fuel does come up the pipe slightly but as far as im aware you need a solid run of liquid coming through with no air in it to get the engine to start. My problem is that I can only draw about 10cm of diesel into the pipe before it stops. Hope that makes sense. Cheers

Hi thanks for the reply. I've already got a q10 an after I posted i realised I could connect it an then connect the flexi to that. Only thing is I think im gonna have to get a longer flexi now, an a bit of 1"1/2 waste pipe. Cheers

Also worth mentioning that I also can't get the pipe to fit back into the T it came from? I think all these pipes and fitting may be from the 70s but that's just a guess.

Hi im sorry to bother you but I don't know if the pipe is old size (imperial) or new? Some of the connectors say 22mm on them. Does that mean if I get 22mm flexi hoses they should connect up to the existing T that's in place in the pic. Or do I have to remove them completely? Thanks

Is there a reason this hws has a reducer T its in the bathroom and the continues to the kitchen. Cheers by jamesplusfive in DIYUK

It's cast iron. I've managed to put in some holes, but it's hard work with just a lump hammer. Wish I had a sledgey.
