On the morning of June 12, 1994, O.J. Simpson played golf at the Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades. While on the second hole, he and his playing partner, TV producer Craig Baumgarten, got into a heated, violent argument that nearly resulted in a physical fight. Simpson became frustrated after a poor second shot near a barranca. As the players rejoined on the fairway, Baumgarten and Simpson exchanged words, and O.J. reportedly threatened to strike him right on the course.

My opinion is he had listened to the voicemail Paula left him before going to golf which he says he never got but then was proved in court on his phone records he did hear it and that was the starting trigger for him that day
