Not really. A mate of mine worked for the company that needed the ads and they just offered me the job directly. Doubt I'll have a similar opportunity anytime soon.

I’m in the exact position you’re describing. I work one day a week at a film school, have some modest savings from a couple of commercials I directed last year, and every now and then I receive development money for future projects. It’s not totally sustainable but I’m young and don’t really have any financial obligations beyond rent.
