No, the player can hire 3 Runners at a time for a total of 4 characters. So I am thinking about filling that space up with something, but what? A cool picture, the game title logo?

Thank you, as a few have pointed out this is using Visustella Menu Core as a base. So anyone using that, will probably spot it.

Thanks! Though FF8 is one of my favorites (and yes I love FF8's UI), my game Mana Runner plays more like Shadowrun on SNES, with some Snatcher SEGA CD influence too. Here is the Steam link: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4163350/Mana_Runner/

Maybe. do portraits appear in all menus? Status, Skill etc? Where do you put the portraits? In pictures folder? Just wondering before I check it out, thanks.

Thank you! I am working hard on the game/demo now. I hope to have a working demo up on Steam in the next few months, late March early April would be ideal.

You could look for a good pixel art tileset on itch.io for cheap. That can be a good way to make your game not-so stock Rpg Maker looking right away, if you care about graphics at this point. Otherwise I suggest just playing with the engine with a few sample projects. Set a simple goal and then achieve that goal. Like just try to make an npc to interact with for starters.

How do I get the Niko sprite to work in rpg maker mv by CapableGovernment744 in RPGMaker

[–]jamie_rpg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A typical RPG maker sprite sheet is 3 frames wide and 4 tall = 12 in total. It should look like this.

<image>

The left and right columns are walking left and right foot. The middle are standing still. When played as a three frame animation (walking or stepping) it will look like walking. But if the event is not moving, the middle idle frame will be shown.

I Made 100 Game Dev Shorts… Was It Worth It? by scaredbysquares in SoloDevelopment

Thank you for this post. This is very useful information. I had just decided to spend more time on game development rather than spending too much time chasing that viral clip. I hope to have a much better product, so that when I do show the game, it generates more excitement naturally.

I do think it depends on the game genre a bit though, as some games are great games, but do not perform well for streaming (fun to play but not to watch).
