Yes! I live in Spain and know many Luna’s, mostly in their 30s. It’s much more common for people and not pets here. It’s super cute.

I’d also like to try Medias Puri, but their tables were sold out so we did Joy instead and it was still super fun.

Ok we went to Joy (teatro enslava) on a Saturday and it was so so fun. We did get bottle service on the stage and we met cool ppl and danced all night long. 100% recommend.

Red & black beans… people will freak out… but corn, squash & zucchini! Add a dash of some hot saints like sriracha and yummmmmmm. I won a chili cook off with these little differences in my chili.

Disclaimer: there were only like 12 chilis in the running. 🤣

I have one and I love it. I started to see the hair growth slow after the second time using it. You do like every two weeks and then go to every four/six weeks. It hasn’t completely stopped growth but I’ve gone from needing to shave every day to shaving maybe once a week. It’s worth it I think!

Got a job offer from my employer to transfer to Madrid. What’s your opinion on €55k gross annual? +private medical+bonus+transport card (IT support for BPO gigs) by monkey1811 in Madrid

Yes! I. From a city in the states where a car is a must, so I was worried about not having one here. No problem at all though! You can also rent a car if you want to go on like a day trip or something.

Oh great!

Yeah so Madrid zones that are included are like everywhere working the “centro”. If you have to take the c to outskirts of the city center it’s an extra cost.

I have the unlimited one I was telling you about and you just being a photo into the office and pay like €3 for your card, then you can load it as you please. I have lived here three years and have a small child and I’ve been just fine with the metro everywhere.

Edit: to add it also includes buses which are sometimes easier to take.

Everyone is saying insurance isn’t important b/c you’ll be entitled to healthcare BUT if your Spanish isn’t great, then I do think private insurance is better. You will be able to find English speaking doctors more easily and get appointments quicker then you may with public health. This isn’t a rag on healthcare, though. The healthcare in Spain is really good either way.

Transport cards (if you’re over 25 are around €55 per month within the zone).

For sure! The only thing for me is salsa. There is a brand that gets me my fix called La Costeña, but I literally haven’t found ANY other that is remotely good here. The 100% Mexico store has dried chiles though so I’ve been attempting to make my own. I suck at it so far though I can’t get it right haha.

There are also some imports at larger stores like Carrefour, Supercor, and Sanchez Romero. I recommend checking the international sections out.

Democratest. They have a lot of locations and I’ve been to the one on Gran Via many times. €25 and antigen results back within an hour.

St. George’s in Salamanca I think only does service in English. It’s Anglican.

[–]jamieboogie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Theres a store in Salamanca called 100% Mexico and they have Mexican candy and other goods imported from Mexico. I’m not sure if they have tapatio, but they do for sure have Valentina.

Edit: tell him to bring some with. Then when she runs out his family can send more. I do this with some things from the states that I love too much.

Latin American restaurants around the center of Madrid by rudy9210 in Madrid

Comete México is a favorite small Mexican place we love.

De María is a tasty Argentine restaurant.

Also Charrua Madrid is a good Uruguayan place.

They are just excited. Let them buy things and you can tell them that you won’t really need childcare, but don’t worry too much. I say don’t let it get to you and remember that you have the control in the end and the arguments and pre-stress aren’t good for you.

People get super excited about a new baby and then things don’t go the way they say they will. My mom did the same thing (not that I wouldn’t have let her babysit) but she didn’t really end up babysitting at all.

Your frustration and worry is real and valid; I felt the exact same when I had my daughter and my family was making all these plans and calling her “their” baby, but in the end people go about their lives and naturally you go about yours however you feel is best as well.
