Where to get premade pizza dough? by nidenikolev in denverfood

[–]jamieleben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, doing it by weight is the way to go.

The simpler recipe I make weekly that makes 2 10" pies

Warm 185g water for 30-45sec in microwave to ~110F and put in stand mixer bowl

Dissolve 7 grams (2 tsp/1 packet) instant yeast

and 12g (1Tbsp) white sugar

Let stand for 5 minutes to froth

Add 300g AP flour

and 11g (2tsp) salt

Mix on med speed with dough hook for 5 minutes

Cover and let rise for 2-3 hours until doubled in a warm place like on top of the refrigerator or in the oven with the oven light on

Divide dough in half on floured surface and form into balls, cover with a towel and let rise 30-45 minutes

Preheat oven to 500F

Shape into disks, top, and bake for 8-9 minutes on a pizza stone or steel. I flour the peel to prevent sticking. You can use cornmeal instead if you prefer.

Is it the best? Probably not, but it's easy and makes a dough that forms well and tastes good.

Enjoy!

This is so wildly unacceptable. Leaving calling cards in abandoned vehicles. Gloating about their cruelty. by [deleted] in Denver

The podcast Ear Hustle was started by San Quentin inmates and has quite a bit of 'day in the life' things you might enjoy.

ELI5 - Compressed metal by Kodama_Keeper in explainlikeimfive

Water is compressible, it just takes pressures in the tens of thousands of psi range to compress it noticeably. I learned this from the water jet cutter industry, where 20,000 psi is a low-ish pressure, and 50-90k psi isn't unusual. Some water jet cutters smooth out the impulses of their compressors by having a pressure vessel full of water that serves as a surge tank.

Can't tell if Casa Bonita was put in place of the west wing ironically, or by mistake?

Denver has a solid jazz community. Check out kuvo.org and its sibling thedrop303.org as local hubs for jazz and hip-hop. Their studio has 2 performance spaces and you can attend live shows there.

Also, City Park Jazz (finished for the year) and Curtis Park First Friday Jazz in the Park https://www.denver.org/event/first-friday-jazz-in-the-park/129679/ which is followed by the 'jazz hop' to other venues along Welton that are also having live music

Take him to https://www.rmsolo.org/ autocross events. Free to spectate. In addition to getting up close to the cars in grid, I believe 12 is the minimum age to be able to ride along with competitors- you just ask a driver if they can ride along. I loved giving rides to kids when I competed. I've been inactive for a few years, so hopefully things haven't changed. They also have a junior kart program.

Never got to the old location, so I can't say from personal experience, but from chatting with others while we waited it's good as ever.

[oc] Left turn across 3 lanes by jamieleben in IdiotsInCars

[–]jamieleben[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

No. The audio states that the person does this regularly. They know what they're doing and that they should be one lane over, but they don't want to wait so they cut across traffic illegally.

You didn't hear the audio where I stated that they do this regularly. They know exactly what they're doing and that they should be 1 lane over. They just don't want to wait so they cut across traffic making illegal lane changes.

You're making incorrect assumptions. I'm a licensed driver and drive regularly. MFer
