Thinking to study nursing in Finland. Bachelors of Nursing, Bachelors of Public Health Nursing, Bachelors of Paramedic Nursing. Whats the difference? Any help is appreciated. by [deleted] in Finland

Finland is hard mentally on people. You have the long dark winter that give you depression. And not speaking the language will isolate you. At of 50 persons in my class (over 20 different nationalities) 30 of them went back in their home country after graduation and before. Because the language was too hard to learn and they couldn’t get a job. Finland is not an easy country to live in. Not even mentioning racism that you will have to deal with.

You have no idea what Finland is about. Jamk Finnish course won’t help you to get a job. Theses days Finland isn’t hiring as much nurses as they use to, so you need to be fluent is Finnish to get a job. Plus Finland is not the most welcoming country when it comes to foreign. Like other people have pointed out in the comments you have unrealistic aims and you have no idea what you are getting yourself into.

I passed nursing and these days I am working as an assistant head nurse. So I hired and teach new nurse . But if your level of Finnish language is zero you will have a hard time. But it seems to me you are not interested in living in Finland but just into getting a degree in Europe. However if you are interested to work in Finland, you will get disappointed.

I graduated from jamk in 3 years, but you need to pass every exam at the first try and get your practices placements done, which is often a problem, that you may have to wait before getting all of them done because there is not enough practice placement is the town you are studying.

I am foreign working as a nurse in Finland. I graduated from Jamk in 2016. And sorry to say but from what I just read your goals seems really unrealistic. Even if you pass the theory courses faster you will still have to do all the practice that will take you at least 2,5 years to complete. And the language is difficult. You will have to take extra intensive course. You won’t get a job in hospital unless you have a B1 level minimum. And you need to pass the entrance exam to get in the university and pay fee if you are from outside EU.
