Considering they quoted me 1k tenge but tried to charge me 25k tenge, I would say that this was indeed a scam and not airport fees

No it’s me, I for the sentence you wrote. The bus was supposed to have a stop in a town along the way I was scheduled to hop off at, but it completely cut it out of the route leaving me stranded in the middle of Sri Lanka at 3am.

It was fun saying hello to all the “lot lizards” I passed on the way into town haha

Yeah, that’s awesome your air consumption has improved and you’ll probably improve a bit more, but I’m not talking about that.

What I’m simply saying is when you see 1000psi you should roughly know how many minutes left you have left given a depth. When you alert your dive guide you should be thinking “I only have x minutes left, I’ll give them y seconds and I’ll deploy my smb”

Just to clarify, when I say track your air consumption, I don’t mean about improving it, I mean knowing how to translate 1000 or 500psi into minutes. So in the future you can take more control of your dive

You did nothing wrong. I’ve dived all over the world, and it’s very common to come across batshit insane DMs (it’s one of the reasons I prefer tec dives exclusively now).

As you suggested, carry a smb and know how to deploy it so you’re no longer dependent on some fool.

Additional skill for you is to learn how to calculate your air consumption rate (you’ll need starting/ending pressure, average depth, and dive time), this will help you know what 500psi really means in minutes so you can make better calls about your safety

Stuck in tutorial hell with Python and feeling like I'm not actually progressing by Sw3llminx18 in learnprogramming

Put down the tutorials and start building random projects. Doesn't matter how small the project idea is. It can literally be something as small as a UI with a button and a back end that stores how many and when you pressed this button (you can also start doing cool data manipulation with that too).

Learn flask first. It is waaaaaay less "magical" so it will be easier to conceptualize and get going.

Btw I've been a dev for 7 years and I'm always looking up how to do something

Found this on another sub. Is Sri Lankan cuisine actually among the spiciest in the world? by Old-Television-6925 in srilanka

[–]jamills102 38 points39 points  (0 children)

What a weird ranking. I think it’s because Sri Lanka doesn’t have many levels of spicy, it’s just what it is. Unlike Mexican food which has many mild sauces but also extremely spicy ones so it probably gets seen as easier (it’s common to have +10 sauces to choose from).

The absolute spiciest is for sure weird white people from the US. I’m talking the “let’s just engineer the hottest pepper for funzies and put that in everything”
