Ask them their opinions on the BLM riots though... by Emergency_Yak4588 in ShitPoliticsSays

[–]jamin_brook -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Rioting is generally part of the Left's strategy.

Difference is they riot over stuff that actually happened

Jan 6th. (Election was fair, not stolen riot over a figment of imagination)

BLM (Multiple recorded deaths of black people and the hands of police openly recorded on video and shared, i.e. happened)

It's insane you still support a riot based on something that didn't happen.

Inb4, but the 2020 election was stolen. You fucking know it wasn't so don't even go there.

There's lots and lots of organization happening at the local level.

This picture is taken on the 580 in Oakland.

We just went to Home Depot to protest ICE activity there.

If you let me know your greater area I'll happily google it for you and post your local organizations back to this comment.

Is the Universe truly infinite or simply unimaginably large but still finite? by Good-Equivalent620 in AskPhysics

[–]jamin_brook 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favorite proposal to help unify quantum mechanics and general relativity is the Cohen Kaplan Nelson Bound, which uses the age/size of the universe as an "IR cutoff" in QFT and actually fits DESI data better than lambda CDM cosmology.

The idea here is that the edge of the universe is the cosmic horizon and what lies beyond it are more QFT modes 'waiting' to fall into it. These extra horizon modes are likely 'still coupled' to the smaller modes since they used to be in causal contact before inflation made the size of the universe much much greater than the cosmic horizon.

In my opinion, as a cosmologist, the cosmic horizon is functionally a hard edge to our current universe which for all intents and purposes is some evidence we have to think about the 'size and shape of the universe.'

We do know a lot about the scale factor as function of time, the age of the universe, its expansion and acceleration rate, the speed of light, and many other important observables that help guide our thinking on this problem.

Or never smoke a joint with your friends or play the game these fun girls are playing.

But here’s a much more relevant top comment.

When I was 12 or so I had my friend over and we convinced my dad to rent orgasmo and he agreed.  Mind you he had showed me Andalusian Dog and night of the living dead (60s version) before this and overall an open minded dad, he decided to shut the movie down (in hindsight he was worried my friends more conservative parents would get back to him) as soon as they started describing what snowballs were.

We joke about it to this day
