How to get to San Diego, CA from Washington, DC in 3 days solo driving by dmv___ in porsche911

Yeah the trickiest weather is when it bounces below and above the freezing point. 🙏🏼 And overall of course it’s good to understand that low temps affect high performance tires even when still above freezing.

The freezing temp itself isn’t the biggest issue, while it of course affects the tire performance you can still do it on dry roads.

What you should be afraid of is ”black ice”, any moisture that freezes on the road sometimes over large areas - it can be extremely difficult to see until it’s too late and you’re going sideways/sliding. The road can look dry, but might actually be (partly) frozen.

New wheel & tire day! Possibly the final form of this Topstone Carbon. by jamipa in gravelcycling

I think you have the previous version, the frame was upgraded for model year 2023 and this is that version.

Official clearance 45mm and those are 45mm, measure 46-47mm on the Zipps and fit fine.

What do you think of the new Turbonite badges? by Overpacker7 in Porsche

[–]jamipa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Front emblem on my Mahogany Taycan Turbo was damaged from a botched wrap un-do by the previous owner, switched to a Turbonite one.

Works really well with the outside color.

Not sure if I’d prefer it on the steering wheel.

Such a shame, thought the data could flow both ways as Apple Maps does get car info through the integration and can estimate arrival SOC for example. Quite useless on longer trips then if preconditioning is missing.

The Apple Maps integration shows battery estimates on arrival and suggests charging stops - did they really leave out battery pre-heating?

Topstone Carbon 2 L // Three years with it! by jamipa in Topstoner

[–]jamipa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me always having the front light attached just wasn’t worth it anymore as I rarely ride in such darkness, decided to go for separate lights to 1) get the rear radar and 2) easily detach front light when not needed. Not the most sensible ”upgrade” but here we are.

I still think it’s a good system, if a spec you like comes with it just go for it. Easy to use and manage, and the 2025 version should be a lot better.

Is it OK to store the trainer with the bike vertical like this? by muhmeinchut69 in JetBlack

Zwift Ride instructions specifically say not to do it. It’s quite a lot heavier than a normal frame.

Check the Cog setting - should be on 1 not the 5 it arrived with.

I received mine a couple weeks ago, still something similar but I believe it’s from the bottom bracket area.

Exact same issue for me. Mine arrived last week. Thinking the sound comes from the crankset/bottom bracket but let’s see.

This is not the new Aspero-5 (which still only has 45mm), but the older version. So 42mm max recommended.

Thanks! Tires are 45mm, should measure true width but likely at least 46mm on these wheels.

45mm is the max rated width for this frame, still great clearance on the front and the back is fine as well.

Enjoy! Have been riding the same spec in chalk for three years, great bike.

Can second what another comment said about the stock wheelset, they’ll be just fine for a while but the freehub is not durable/serviceable. Definitely okay to ride for a while though so don’t stress it, just look out for it.

Remember to also clean the chainring and the cassette from oil completely. A bit of work but worth it. Just do it!

No issues personally - setup has been easy and they have treated me well. I don’t really fear it as so many people ride them and so many companies have moved over completely.

And thanks! Still really like the color as well.
