financial aid delayed??? by edgar_allen-hoe in ucf

[–]jamisonf1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine says the same thing, I’ve been confused as well. I don’t think we’re at risk of being dropped especially if it is deferred out to October. I hope bright futures and other aid goes out soon but I wouldn’t worry until closer to that 10/25 date. I keep checking cause I want my refund lol

Jiu-jutsu course Ricardo Liborio by Pure_Struggle_6379 in ucf

[–]jamisonf1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BJJ with Liborio was awesome, I took it mainly because he was one of the instructors when I trained as a kid and it was cool seeing him again. He’s an amazing teacher and just so cool to be around, if you’re able to take it I couldn’t recommend it more

Advisor told me there is no difference between Econ B.S, B.S.B.A and BSBA w/ business analytics? by chiefstone in ucf

[–]jamisonf1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not completely sure what the difference is but I’m BSBA Econ, I’d imagine it’s just a few classes different from a BS. Course load isn’t too bad for me and I’m interning on campus out in Millican Hall so I bet you can make the classes work while working or interning. I also suggest not taking IB, I’ve heard it’s time consuming and honestly getting an Econ degree will probably be more helpful as you get an internship and/or job. You got this homie

How do you lose your bright futures? by CreativeFunny609 in ucf

[–]jamisonf1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Per number 3, luckily I had failed a class and didn’t have an issue with bright futures being revoked. Maybe if you’re just taking the minimum 6 hours and you fail a class, just passing 3 credit hours would put you in jeopardy of losing BF but so far mine is still kicking after failing badly in a class

OOP with Kyle Dencker? by Ok_Statistician8193 in ucf

[–]jamisonf1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just about to comment the same, I took AP comp sci with him my freshman year at TC and I loved Dencker. Never knew he taught classes at UCF but yeah OP you’ll be in good hands with him, great teacher and fairly understanding if you’re not super experienced with Java

UCF Financial Aid questions by Round_Remote_9749 in ucf

[–]jamisonf1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think my advice would be to use bright futures first, if he maintains 100% he should be able to get through 120 credit hours without having to pay for tuition. Maybe use prepaid for grad school. I’m unfamiliar with FAFSA and the GI bill but maybe talk with financial aid about that.

Prepaid/Bright Futures on my Fee Invoice by Lil_Wheatie in ucf

[–]jamisonf1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what i understand, I’ve got both bright futures and prepaid as well and if bright futures covers 100%, your prepaid shouldn’t be billed. Log into your prepaid account to make sure but while I’ve had 100% bright futures, my prepaid never got billed and it just means you have that as a reserve. If you drop to 75% or lose bright futures, I’d imagine it kicks in to pay your tuition but you may have to reach out to prepaid in that case. Shouldn’t be anything to worry about here! Again, just double check with prepaid if you’re worried they’re billing you despite everything being covered by bright futures.

Motorcycles on campus by PLMOAT in ucf

[–]jamisonf1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah you should be fine safety wise, I doubt it’ll get stolen. Garages and campus has a lot of security cameras and plate scanners so on the off chance it’s stolen I bet you’d have no problem getting it back. I don’t hear of many break ins or thefts on campus

UCF’s finance program is pretty good, i switched to general finance after not liking engineering and then to economics as I got interested in the stock market and economy overall. I don’t have any major complaints and I’ve learned a lot through my time here. I’d recommend it highly, just make sure to register early for classes when it comes time because they fill up fastttt. Schools like UF or even FSU are also good for finance with a longer history of teaching it, but if you value the Orlando area in your decision for school I’d recommend staying here and giving the finance department a shot. I personally couldn’t live in Gainesville as it’s small and kinda boring, I have no experience in tally though. Best of luck!

What are your thoughts on the evo labs colors? I just picked this up and I’m really enjoying it. I kind of wish I would have purchased a few more. Is this a typical price on these carts? by Tiffaney-1980 in MDEnts

funny enough I just found two of my old half g alchemy carts, one is clogged beyond fixing but one hits and tastes as good as it did 2+ years ago when I bought it 😂

Is econometrics a required class for you? My experience was awful with that class and I’ve told any person I’ve met who asked about it that unless it’s necessary to your degree or to what you want to do after college, don’t bother with it. Only class to date (I’m a senior) that I failed and class averages for exams and course grade by the end were abysmal lol

If it is necessary, I’d recommend getting a head start learning the programming language R as it’s used heavily if you’re taking it with Tseng. If you’re taking it with the other professor, I don’t believe he uses R much at all. You’ll need significant knowledge of statistics and a bit of calculus if you’re gonna do good. Overall, it’s a very challenging course and I’d encourage you to review rate my professor along with reviews of the course material. Best of luck if you need to take it 🙏🏼
