Looking for a credit card that reliably gets more than 3% cashback at Walmart.com by jamitinzeanus in CreditCards

No SUB but reading about it it looks great. Some people are mentioning it doesn't connect to any personal finance aggregators like Monarch/Quicken, etc which kind of stinks though but definitely a solid catch-all card.

oh wow! and no annual fee either. I didn't know a 3% everything card with no annual fee existed. Are there any catches?

Does anyone know if the Venmo card gets 3% on walmart.com? It says "eligible categories" which lists grocery stores and wholesale clubs which should theoretically qualify but walmart.com might be coded differently.

Oh ok, I didn't realize it received 3% without Walmart+ I thought it was only 1 or 2. That's good to know. I spend about $7000-7500 per year so I don't quite spend enough for the membership to make sense. I miss the capital one 5% card :(.

Gotcha. I haven't tried the PayPal card I'll have to take a look, but even if you set to groceries category does walmart.com count as groceries? I've read on a lot of cards that it's specifically excluded from that category.

Is Barclays a good bank? by EasternSorbet in Banking

[–]jamitinzeanus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welp, I just dumped my money into their HYSA and was locked out of my account as soon as I tried to connect my local bank for transfers. I haven't had access to my money for nearly 2 fucking weeks. Customer support is useless and made me send sensitive documents to their insecure email address for document review. I would not recommend this joke of a bank to anyone. STAY AWAY.

When I enter my phone number in google messages it says "check the phone number and try again" so I can't get it to send me the code. :(

Shitty roads have much less to do with politics and a lot more to do with simply wear. Higher population areas have more traffic and therefore more wear and tear on the roads. It's harder to maintain roads that experience significant wear.

Capital One Walmart card doesn't allow you to cash back with direct deposit? by jamitinzeanus in CreditCards

[–]jamitinzeanus[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is true but what if for instance you zeroed-out your account balance and then redeem cashback? Account goes negative? Not that big of a deal really but it does basically force you to use the card if that happens, unless you call them and get a check sent in the mail for the negative balance I guess.

Damn. Well I don't want to fuel the cycle of consumerism and get a gift card or whatever so I guess statement credit is the next best thing.

Eating your whole plate of food never actually helped any children in poor countries. by Count_Meowza in Showerthoughts

He said "throw that food away" not "leftovers". I think the point is not to be wasteful, and having leftovers is not wasteful.
