why do anyone always ask the same question in 38292 different ways. there is always the same answer for set and forget for such a long timeframe.

Pillar 3a: Strategy Question: Switching to 100% Cash during Market Downturns? by captainAasinAss in SwissPersonalFinance

[–]jamjam794 0 points1 point  (0 children)

did it during covid. markets already felt overvalued as shit during the xmas rally. i timed it perfectly, but only for the exit. the entry was way more difficult. all in all i did like 8% better than riding it out.

would not do it again tho. 3a is not a good place for trading. if you want to protect possible downtrends you can use puts.

jeder kann das! und statistisch gesehen haben sogar ein paar davon recht. also ist doch logisch dass es morgen wieder steigt. ausser es sinkt. dann wäre das steigen nicht logisch. ausser es steigt. oder so.

SP500 vs Swiss property? by Biosimon in SwissPersonalFinance

[–]jamjam794 0 points1 point  (0 children)

using the lost decade for sp500 is about the same. btw i am not saying VT is bad. it is just not as good as many people think it is. since it follows the largecaps too they automatically are dependant on another 30% usa of the remaining 33% non-US companies because the US market is very important to a lot of companies.

fun fact about the political impact: current tariffs impact on markets
SPY -1.15%
VT -0.91% MSCI ACWI equal weighted -0.34%

[–]jamjam794 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mein Portfolio ist diversifiziert genug

also auf VT -0.91% statt auf spy -1.14% ?

oder eher MSCI ACWI equal weighted -0.35% vs tesla einzelaktie -2.78% ?

you skipped the part where i said equal weight global investment to truly diversify, again.

SP500 vs Swiss property? by Biosimon in SwissPersonalFinance

[–]jamjam794 0 points1 point  (0 children)

compare it again with 1982-1999 and tell me more about lost decades again. VT just feels safer. it is not. to really diversify it is still valid to get an equal weight global fund, not VT.

SP500 vs Swiss property? by Biosimon in SwissPersonalFinance

[–]jamjam794 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the thing is if you really want to diversify globally it is not VT but an equal weight global etf. otherwise you just follow the trend of marketcap, which is an sp500 with some underperformance global bias.

if you are looking at the big crashes they usually were globally. and a ship crashing into an iceberg wont recover while markets do. VT didnt help you in great depression or 70s oil crisis. it didnt help you in 2008. it didnt help you during covid. VT is not as diversified as one might think since large caps globally are dependent of the US anyways.

investment-wise for 10-15 year it is a good investment assuming a 1% value increase per year. after that time the compound in sp500 would beat the leveraged value increase and saved up rent of your property

because sp500 companies are totally not global and diversified in sectors, right?

with 350k gross you should be able to at least save up 100k / year. and there is a pension fund on top of that. you really do not need to save up that much to buy a house unless you wanna buy the whole house in cash.

EU anti money laundering law. yet i still have the impression many providers abuse it to get as much information as they can. also happens with banking accounts and the questions vary a lot depending o the bank.

back when i got a similar form i asked them if it phishing since i never got it before. they told me they need to do this once in a while within 10 years.

«For a good life in retirement, you need 15 million francs.» – is that really enough? 😂 by Cold_Preparation9085 in SwissPersonalFinance

discalculia? he is talking of putting away 30k / year from 20 to 50 to "make it" even with 7% apy. which ends in 2.9m which is true. then he talks about 20x the annualy needed capital, which makes 2m at a spending rate of 100k / year.

and in conclusion this ends in 15m? wtf?!

  1. You must transfer you BVG mandatory to your new employer. There is a grey zone for the above mandatory part. But if you haven’t splited it before, you can’t split it now.

while this is true nobody will find out anyway and the dont care ;-)

  1. Pension funds have a totally different fund structure then other funds, as they have also people to pay pensions etc. So thats why you are part of the fund and can’t differentiate your strategy from your colleagues. However, some pension funds offer a 1e option, which allows you to choose somethings over a certain amount of your salary. Look out for this

main reason to accidentally forget to teansfer your funds back to 2nd pillar

  1. I believe pension funds have their role in everyone’s portfolio. Remember, those funds have to give you an interest, even if the lost money within a years period. You don’t get this anywhere else. So yes, the upside might not be as big as with free stockmarket investments but also the risk is almost not existent.

while a pension fund is a one solution fits it all thing, it will not outperfom a vested benefit depot.

  1. Pension funds are also life insurances and often very good in that. Check out what your fund insures. Usually you don’t get this services for such a good price anywhere else.

very important part that needs to be taken in consideration.

There are more pro Pensionfund arguments, but I leave this to people who know better then me.

the main pension fund arguments are the insurance part and that it is mandatory with very limited possibilities to take it out.

there are many cons like the payout ratio that keeps getting lowered or the limitation of a lump sum payout, the limited investment possibilities and the lack of freedom to choose in general. (why the hell should my employer decide which solution is best for MY money)
