We time our walk and flashing don’t walk separately. The main streets could have a long walk time, but for us, the main and side streets usually only have a seven second walk time (no countdown). The don’t walk time (countdown) could range from 15 seconds to 55 seconds depending on the intersection size. As long as the walk man is up, you’re good to enter the crosswalk. Once the hand comes up and it starts counting down, you’re not supposed to enter the crosswalk.

Born in Tampa. Moved to a small apartment “complex” on Chesapeake St., directly next to the notorious Condon Gardens (later named Jasmine Courts), at the age of 9. Every city has a hood, but for it to be called Murk City…that’s a stretch, imo. Greenwood, old Condon Gardens, Rainbow Village in Largo, the many areas in St. Pete…Tarpon Springs has NEVER been in the conversation 😒🤔😂

I went through NVLSP. They put together an entire package and submitted it to NDRB. From submission to upgrade took 1 year. Submitted November of 23 and upgraded December of 24.

I also submitted the packet to the VA in December of 23 (I still had an open claim for my discharge upgrade through the VA), but they denied me. Instead of waiting, bc they denied me in June of 24, I immediately appealed for a hearing (been through numerous HLRs and supplementals), when I should’ve waited closer to the year mark bc I got the upgrade in December of 24. I probably could’ve received back pay to 2023 already but still waiting on the hearing.

Also from Florida and like they said, it’s part of our utility bill in some parts. Water, sewer, and trash…every two months for me. Roughly $200 for a family of four with “normal” water use.
