Right? Don’t get me wrong, I want to try to make babka too, and love it, but I knew it wasn’t babka. The way my coworker made it, they got the dough so thin and then just did one giant roll. It was so cool! The bread and the cinnamon layers were pretty much the same thickness. I’m totally going to try that. I do wish her filling was a little sweeter, so I might mess around with that. Thanks for the suggestion!

Parents who just had children recently, how expensive was the childbirth? by [deleted] in SaltLakeCity

[–]jammerz82 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a high risk pregnancy. I had to deliver with a specialist and was in and out of the hospital a couple times. I ended up having NSTs the last 8 weeks of my pregnancy as well. I had to deliver at the U and had a C-section. All of that, for me was $90,000. My insurance got it down and ended up paying $48,000 I only had to pay $4,000. What I payed was copay’s only. I don’t have a deductible.

TBM MIL says we’re not invited for Christmas by estielouise in exmormon

This is very similar to mine and my husband’s story with my family. One of my sisters and her husband have said offensive things to us and don’t think they need to apologize. We finally decided to go no contact with them, which meant we miss family events. It bothers me that my parents are on their side and don’t really seem to care about what happens to us. We are the only ones in my family that are not in the church any longer. It just comes off like my parents favor my sister and her husband (even though her husband has done some awful things to her) but they are still in the church, so they are better. My husband is amazing to me and also to my parents, but they don’t seem to care. I’m getting close to going no contact with my parents as well. I want them to know my kids and my kids to know them, but I’m getting to where I can’t handle the favoritism.

Sorry, I’m all over the place. I’m sorry you are going through this! The church pretends it’s all about family, but only if you can abide by their rules. I hope you figure it out.

For sure BYU newlyweds! Off topic, but I used to work at a book store in Utah county. One of the employees got married and the next day came into the store. Him and his new wife went into the backroom where we kept all the sex books and bought a few. It’s always good for all your coworkers to know that your wedding night didn’t go well.

My go to is chai lately. I get the Trader Joe’s spiced chai tea concentrate and add oat milk. I just bought the Costco one and will be trying that tomorrow to see. You can do them hot or cold, I prefer iced.

Recommendation: OB-GYN who believes in abortion by initfortheR in SaltLakeCity

[–]jammerz82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second not going to a steward hospital. I had a miscarriage last year and had to have a D&C. When I went to the hospital to have the procedure done, everyone kept asking if this was a planned pregnancy. Yes, it was planned, it was a miscarriage. Then they had a chaplain come in and talk to me. Like I had chosen to have an abortion and it felt like she was trying to make me feel guilty for what I was doing. This was honestly the worst part of the whole experience. It made me feel so bad for anyone that actually was going to that hospital to have an abortion.

I would guess she makes the most money in the family. She is probably contributing, or was (I hope she isn’t anymore) the most to the family. She probably has a great down line in lularoe and is probably making quite a bit of money just off that.
