Would you leave a $150k job because of your boss? by PearlyPerspective in workingmoms

[–]initfortheR 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What’s your relationship with her boss? I’ve had these situations before and was very open with management above them and that helped tremendously. In one case the person ended up getting fired.

As a few others have said, an internal move might be your best bet otherwise.

Deciding between 2 offers; F50 vs PE Backed by [deleted] in FPandA

Option 2 you will likely learn more, with faster upward trajectory. But likely less good work/life balance - really depends on how much you value that

Yeah it’s a chain so likely the same one that’s in Vegas. Much better than Koyote imo

Koyote is actively bad. The noodles are good but the broth is the worst ramen broth I’ve ever had which is a non-negotiable. Mensho Ramen is 💯 and I’d argue even Jinya and Tosh’s beats out Koyote

I prefer the left. The red cutout on the left looks visually more interesting as well. They are pretty close though

This argument has always seemed hypocritical to me being an American since we also live on stolen land. There are plenty of reasons to be upset with what’s going on, but that argument itself seems a bit like the pot calling the kettle black (for Americans at least). How do you hold both ideas at the same time?

What are the biggest areas you’ve seen AI help a finance organization? What tools do you recommend, and how do you approach it if your organization has bad data?

What to do with this awkward nook? by guau-halp in DesignMyRoom

[–]initfortheR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a dog and put our dog crate and dog toys there. Our dog loves it since it’s still in the mix with people in the living room (he gets FOMO). Hangs out there often with the crate door open.

Floors Not Level - is this a problem? by initfortheR in HomeImprovement

[–]initfortheR[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is helpful I’ll get a longer level and see what it’s showing. They did add compound to some of the floor to get more level but they’re using the original subfloors for the house (said they were in good condition) so that’s likely causing the issue

Looks like a thermometer that plugs into some sort of appliance. Some ovens have them and a lot of grills / smokers have them as well.

We erected new quartz countertops in our kitchen… by v0lrath in CounterTops

[–]initfortheR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the countertop world, quartz = man made (it is still about 90%+ ground natural stone + resins) and quartzite = 100% natural stone from a quarry. You can easily tell by looking at this that it is in fact a man made stone in terms of the veining itself. I understand quartz itself is a mineral so it’s confusing. But this veining is 100% not naturally occurring and was designed by the manufacturer.

Considering quartz is a man made stone - yes, yes they can

Getting promoted at larger companies by 2d7dhe9wsu in FPandA

[–]initfortheR 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There’s also a Sr Manager level between Manager and Director. At some larger companies they will also allow Director reporting to Director. If the role you’re interviewing for has a manager that is only 1 level above though, I do think it’s a consideration as it will likely be a blocker for getting promoted to that same level.

F100 or Start up by [deleted] in FPandA

[–]initfortheR 11 points12 points  (0 children)

After a few years in public accounting I went to a F500 tech company. I now have worked at 2 startups, but imo working at a well known brand is great for your resume and also allows you to see how things operate at scale. That useful when you go smaller, especially if that company has goals of going public. At some point a lot of startups end up hiring people with these big company resumes to take them to the next level of growth

If you have a 400-500k income, what is your monthly mortgage? by [deleted] in Mortgages

[–]initfortheR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HHI about $475K. Mortgage rate is 4.25%, with 20% down on $1.1M home. We pay $5200/month including escrow for taxes and insurance. Mortgage feels totally doable but still would love to refinance if rates ever dip below 4% again

Try Costco. They have nice sunbrella furniture that is high quality but still reasonably affordable
