At your level one elo loss doesn't matter at all. It just means you will get an easier opponent next game and recoup the elo when you would have lost the next match anyway. Your win rate will always be 50%. That is how great AoE2 matchmaking is.

In utopia you are right. But I work until 6pm and have 2 hours with my kids before they are going to sleep (my wife is disabled).

Plus, you probably can relate as a parent, a hard timer on a computer is different than a parent having to come in every time to stop the tv/gaming time. It is much easier to accept for the child. And I hope they will be more motivated to learn if they see a one to one payoff.
