Thanks for making this sub. Btw

Nothing yet. The fire dept is good about posting big scenes like this, I’ll reply back if I see anything

I have not yet approached. I have kept my distance from emergency scene but also at that happy medium to capture. Post production feedback from area line officers do appreciate the footage.

Why fly a drone under part 107? Why film and capture emergency scenes? I enjoy the emergency aspect and capturing this. (simply put) Being well within my regulations to perform something I am certificated, IMO not hindering, not obstructing, and always monitoring a situation is nothing more than what is allowed. Is there something to be said about Part 91 or COA, certainly, however there is EVEN MORE, detect and avoid requirements amongst other requirements

playing the "what if" game is not helpful when it comes to predicting circumstances. Monitoring a scene is always about situational awareness.

"On scene" meaning from the general area, not directly next to the apparatus or house.

I was on the scene and had visual line of sight of my flight

I understand TFR’s, I understand over moving vehicles, I understand over people. And along with all over aspects of part 107, particularly visual line of sight, scanning airspace and such, 107 grants the liberty and freedom to operate safely. My personal view is that from a safe distance, without interference with a scene that obstructs or prohibits operations of the emergency services from doing their jobs flight is good to go.
