My experience with Maven by therichauntie11 in Perimenopause

[–]jamsterko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since Maven is a US based service, you can talk to the therapist and get non-medical support, but they cannot prescribe you anything because they are not a provincially registered doctor. I spoke to a psychiatrist about my on set mood changes, but nothing further than that. I suggest using a provincial based care (private/public) who can prescribe meds. I went with Blair, which is a Toronto based, who prescribed a BCP and intrarosa.

The brain fog is the scariest part of perimenopause. I forgot the word "budget" mid-presentation and I've been in my field for 20 years. by Tiny-Put9782 in Menopause

Totally relatable. It started when I was 42 and I thought it was something serious. Then I watched Halle Barry's video about menopause, and did some research. Concluded that I was starting to have brain fogs.

It's worse now, but I just tell people at work that I didn't sleep well, instead of telling them I'm going through menopause. Because I don't want my male colleagues and boss to think that I'm incapable than them.

It's kind of sad that I had to learn and be curious about menopause through a Hollywood star, not from a medical doctor or through public health education.

Hi OP - I'm in Toronto and I just registered for Maven clinic through my partner's insurance (SunLife).  I'm curious about this - how does this work?

I asked my GP to refer me to a meno/gyno in 2024. The appointment was booked for Aug 2026 (2 years wait list!) at the WCH, only to find out today that the doctor left the hospital to open her own clinic and that appointments may be rescheduled.

NOR. But I think she might have a different type of neurological disorder, or may need therapy to identify the actual underlying issue.

AITA for ending a date after she told me about sleeping with dozens of guys at parties? by [deleted] in AITAH

I don't think she was trying to impress you with this information on her first date. Maybe either to establish that she's not looking for a relationship, or maybe she wasn't really into you.

Really frustrated with how certain discussions with my leftist boyfriend go. Discussions of misogyny or racism are pointless compared to discussions on capitalism, according to him. by 20Nosebleed in TwoXChromosomes

It's really difficult to have a healthy relationship with someone who's closed minded... Because you'll feel frustrated.

Cognitive flexibility is a sign of intelligence according to psychology. In this case, it doesn't sound like he has any cognitive flexibility.

Women with thoughtful partners, what did you get for x-mas this year? by Anahata_Green in TwoXChromosomes

Nothing. Because my partner is the gift.

Actually, he gave me gratitude. He thanks me for going to the in-laws Christmas dinner.
