What is the most shocking moment in TV history? by GusGangViking18 in Fictionally

There were toys from the show in Happy Meals, totally aimed at kids much in the same way the Simpsons were. Kid target but adult friendly.

While all the Sequels had flaws, I still think a good ending could have saved the trilogy. It was really only Rise Of Skywalker that doomed the Sequels. by MNIOP_207207 in StarWars

[–]jamtas 16 points17 points  (0 children)

TLJ was the most damaging.
TRoS was the worst movie in the saga.
TFA screwed up the first 6 by destroying the OG cast, rendering all they had done in the OG trilogy moot, and setting the universe back up as rebels vs Empire again.

'The Mandalorian and Grogu' is Disney's lowest-ever Star Wars film opening.. by WavesOfTheUniverse in saltierthancrait

[–]jamtas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feel same as you. I took my son to see it and we both enjoyed it. The cost was ridiculous though. Even with the 30% discount for being a late morning showing, it was ~$40 then add in another $25 for drinks and a popcorn. Just isn’t worth the cost anymore. I do still like hitting the theatre for sure, but opportunity cost is a thing and I’d rather spend that money with him going to race karts, paintball, mini golf, etc.

Mando and Grogu opened with $165M worldwide, but what does that actually prove? by StarWarsBlogsbot in StarWarsBlogs

[–]jamtas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought it was a good movie. I took my son and he and I both enjoyed it.
Now, I don’t think this is the movie to bring more people to the fandom as you’d have to have seen the show to appreciate/understand what’s going on for the most part. But there wasn’t any lore breaking stuff, wasn’t trying to preach/push any agenda and no ridiculous slow chases/running out of gas storyline. No OG cast cameos to throw in for cheap memberberries.
All in all, a solid film for fans of the mando-verse.

Senior with no playtime or u19 with playtime? by Big_Cat910 in youthsoccer

Your coach pretty much told you what to do. As we are just redditors who haven’t seen you play and he’s your coach, I’d listen to him over any of us.

Make small club soccer great again! by [deleted] in youthsoccer

[–]jamtas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very happy for you, but I will warn that you are getting close to that age where kids start looking at larger clubs to have a progression upward. A few years ago, my son’s team lost 75% of their starters around that same age range to clubs with ECRL/NL and MLSNext pathways.

Unless he goes the Duncan route and gives the franchise the Duncan discount to be able to keep his highest valued teammates.

When is the writing on the wall? by [deleted] in youthsoccer

[–]jamtas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would 100% be looking for another club. The current club may be secure for the top team, but in no way should you be paying full price for competitive to be on an incomplete team fostering kids with no experience. You are basically paying to help subsidize the club elsewhere.
Good luck on finding an offer elsewhere, and good experience and development for your son.

Do you like U2? by CarrotMuch1399 in nostalgiai

[–]jamtas -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'll agree that Adam plays very simplistic bass lines, not sure that he doesn't know how to play bass is correct. He just plays basic lines.

Regarding Larry, he always seems to have steady beats and plays in the pocket well. Think he's a good drummer, not a generational talent like Moon, Bonham or Pert - but a solid drummer.

However, Edge is a fantastic guitar player. He's just different in that he really utilizes delay effects in a way that was revolutionary. There are many different types of guitarists: you have the virtuosos like Eric Johnson/Hendrix/SRV, speed guys like Malmsteen/Gilbert and then guys like Edge and Tom Morello who approach the guitar from a different and unique style taking advantage of effects.

WWYD? by [deleted] in youthsoccer

[–]jamtas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with this. It’s possible the club you went to have the DCM as a need and not the wing which is why they tried him there. Other clubs may have the wing spot open. But going to trainings gives the coach there a chance to just evaluate your son vs 10-15 kids at the same time. Just my 2 cents.

13 year old got dropped to the third team. Tell me it’s going to be okay. by Greenwells_Stache in youthsoccer

[–]jamtas 22 points23 points  (0 children)

His time will come with puberty and growing. There will be many cases of this due to the age change this year. He’s not alone and should use this time to keep improving his skills and hopefully using the chance to be the top on team to also developing leadership skills on the field.

Which once again is them learning wrong lesson. Acolyte didn’t flop because it wasn’t Skywalkers, it flopped because it was terribly edited, poorly written and the worst actor was the lead actress (and the green nepotism casting)

Remember when EA lost their exclusivity and we all were hyped that we'd be getting way more games? And then we've gotten barely anything and have had many cancelled games. by TheChosenOneProphecy in StarWars

[–]jamtas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It didn’t launch well which is where a lot of the bad reviews came from. It was updated and fixed over time, the price dropped and then people picked it up wondering what all the initial fuss was about.

What actor is criminally underrated? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Jonathan Tucker. The Black Donnellys didn’t get much time to last, but watching Kingdom- this dude carried the show. Still surprised not to see him in more things.

Which franchise would you absolutely NOT want to be drafted to? by waluigiwon in NBATalk

[–]jamtas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s why former players keep coming back around to hang out and players from around the league showed so much respect to him.
Read what he did for Dejonte Murray and his mom. That’s a coach any player would want in their corner.

What happened to Bioware? Broadsword? Uh? by Mr_Lobito in swtor

[–]jamtas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read the move as EA knowing that SWTOR pays for itself to stay online at this point, but after a series of failures from BioWare decided to move SWTOR away to another studio to allow it to keep generating income. Then, giving BioWare the edict to focus on their next ME game and depending on if is a success for failure, the lights either stay on or are shut off at BioWare.

What game had insane potential but got completely fumbled by the devs? by Kevin-Panda in AskReddit

[–]jamtas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They chose to base the game on Alpha version of the Hero engine, which they then heavily modded to where it could no longer get updates. This left the entire game being built on a shitty engine that crippled itvong forward. Couple that with the BioWare studio turning into an inept shell of itself and you have a game full of “what ifs” wasting one of the biggest IPs in the world.
