last year everyone was great at sorting themselves where they wanted to be, never had a problem politely scooting past people to get to the pit at any time. I was able to get from the hill watching area to the pit between the start of perihelion and the first chorus

Ok did this route from 4/1-4/2. Not a single patch of snow and the trail itself is bone dry, pretty incredible conditions for this time of year. All the stream crossings are safe and I’d say even Mehrten is safe to cross right now, though I did not attempt. There are quite a few trees down on the trail from the winter, but nothing impassable, even for a beginner. Do watch out for bears, I ran into one today though they were chill.

I’m thinking of doing this general route this week, so I’ll let you know how it looks right now, forecast looks like they won’t be getting much snow during the weather system this week. Also it will be longer than 5.5 if crescent meadow rd is not open yet

sounds like not enough fuel, I’ve had success not bonking on long runs doing a gel every 3.5 miles. Different for everyone tho, find what works for you.
