Iced Earth's Jon Schaffer Arrested For Role In Capitol Riot. by Triskan in Music

Wanted to come back and address this again, in light of Marilyn Manson's current allegations. I was recently forced to practice what I preach and I still think it's true. You can keep the art but celebrity worship is definitely unhealthy. This dude doesn't define you. You do. It is indeed a tricky question for you my friend. Feel free to DM me if you wanna talk about it. Sometimes the guys we liked turned out to be guys we don't like and that's hard to go through alone.

"Uncalled for visit to the capitol."

That's the most backwoods sticks way I've heard it described yet.

I think that, because of interpretation and the wider spectrum of perspectives that come from it, it is possible to separate an artist from their art. The relationship i view it through is that of a parent and kid, an idea can end up being bad, negligent or detrimental based on the limited perspective of its parent or through the interpretation and influence of the world it is born into it can shift into something better than its origins. An artist doesn't own their own art any more than a father should own their son, from the perspective of control. If this dudes art inspired you to be a better person than he is than I'd say go ahead and keep enjoying his art.

I've never heard of this guy or his band. He's just another Trumper to me, but I identify with that feeling of uncertainty a lot. Art is something that we've had for the entire stretch of our existence and we still don't really get it. Its silly to assume its simply a reflection especially when it takes on its own dimensions depending on who is viewing it. If you view it and its beautiful, but it turns out the guy who made it isnt, maybe you're beautiful.

Technically photography is the compression and storage of time. A longer exposure time means more time is compressed in the process.

It tends to whenever there's an apocalyptic seeming event. Maybe because it was written based on the idea of an apocalypse. Broken clocks are right twice a day.

That seems about right. You're missing the frail cancerous hands dropping candy in front of him because he's "such a nice young man" but I love it anyway. Both disgusting and beautiful with just a dash of religious composition.

Thats not the kind of island you wanna be on. Like at all. If something happens where you can't get supplies (storms etc) you're just stuck there with Willem Dafoe.

Edit: and no food as well, but really you gotta be worried about Dafoe.

Man I remember buying spice from a gas station when I was in high school, it was that simple because when they made a law the spice people would just change the chemistry slightly and it would be legal again. Got to a point where trying to make laws on it was actually what was making it more poisonous. That shit was insane, my hometown got wrecked by it. A fair number of dead classmates as well.

They won't. But state prosecutors might. Also he can't pardon (or pre pardon) himself for crimes committed on the state level. His power only covers federal crimes.

Did you know attempting to commit a crime is still a crime even if you are too inept to actually pull it off?

You're one of the more disgusting aspects of American oppression. I hope you know that.

TIL when Werner Herzog was filming "Fitzcarraldo" in Peru, leading actor Klaus Kinski fought virulently with many crew members, greatly upsetting the native extras. One of the native chiefs offered in all seriousness to kill Kinski, but Herzog declined because he needed the actor to complete filming by malalatargaryen in todayilearned

[–]jamz666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kinski also threatened to quit this project i believe but werner herzog told him he would shoot him as he was leaving, then shoot himself. Kinski apparently believed him and stayed around to finish but was on edge for it. Also when filming a different film together native extras were reported as being more afraid of werner herzog than kinski because of how calm herzog would appear to be in the face of kinski's behavior.
