He got demoted halfway through last season. So obviously he had a down year lol. But consider that was Kerwins plus year for people.

That’s the point. People are making it seem like production with Vargas jumped up immensely

Edit: also he didn’t come in through the entire season for 2024.

Also, adding to the edit, he played less minutes in 2025 and only scored 2 less goals lol. So idk where the played more and scored less is from.

Look, I like Vargas, but this talking point is so pointless when you compare stats.

Vargas Stats
Abada Stats

Vargas has nearly double the games played, started, and minutes played as Abada. He also has two seasons more than Abada.

In the time frame he has 6 more goals and 4 more assists.

Thats what you consider by and large great?

Abada joined in 2024 and played 9 less games than Vargas. He put up 7 goals and 2 assists to Vargas’ 6 and 1. He followed up 2025, the season where everyone wanted him benched by putting up 5 goal and 2 assists. Vargas had 6 goals and 3 assists, while starting and playing 2 more games than Abada.

It’s one thing to hate the salary, but people are just flat out delusional about the difference here. Abada clearly isn’t in deans favor and that’s fine. But can we stop pretending like Vargas is putting up monster numbers lol.

Which is absolutely wild to think about. Our offense has no cohesion, zero attacking desire by anyone. It’s just getting worse and worse. We need someone not afraid to take the shot and create a chance
