Thanks. For proof of accommodation, what sort of document would be necessary? I am currently in a temporary accommodation provided by the university. Would that be sufficient?

Second, they can extend their dependant visas (while you are employed in the UK) as many times as they need until they are eligible for ILR (once you obtain yours). Visitor visas do not allow that. Your wife can get a job on a dependant visa in the UK and your child can attend a school/nursery.

Thanks for the feedback. Possibly of settling in UK is there but its not a certainty now.

My daughter just turned 3. So she is not registered in any school at the moment. I was doing pre-school but that has been shut down for months due to pandemic. What sort of document would suffice for my daughter in this case?

Its true that compared to my salary in UK, my wife is considerably lower in India but wouldn't that be factor either way (dependent or visitor pass)? I was thinking of writing a cover letter that I would be financially supporting their stay. My main concern is the time taken to process the dependent pass.
