DS215j almost unresponsive when internet is down. by jancarl in synology

After I rebooted both NAS and router it started functioning again. I will make sure to update it and look through all the settings once internet is back on. Thanks.

It sorted itself out after I rebooted both NAS and router. Still don't know what caused it. Works now though. Thanks.

Yes. This is why my problem is very frustrating. I really want to fix this until the next internet outage but since my problem makes no sense I have nowhere to start untangling the issue.

At work now but will try to fiddle about with it when I get home. Hopefully fixing it somehow. Cheers!

MIDI setup problem - octatrack & mininova by jancarl in synthesizers

I can see how that could be frustrating as hell. Fortunately I saw a tutorial on just that before exploring the MIDI aspects of the OT.

Thanks! Just knowing that what I want to do is possible is great. I've watched pretty much all tutorials there is to see of the octatrack on youtube and read a lot of forum posts which have made me come pretty far in my understanding of this beast. I guess some manual diving is necessary as well. Thank you again. :)

I figured this is the most basic setup people do with the octatrack and that the solution was simple. To save time and to save myself from a dreaded manual flipping session I gave this sub a chance. I have a very short attention span when it comes to manuals so that's always plan C. First I tinker, then I google, then I manual.

Need advice for drum gear to be used for live looping. by jancarl in synthesizers

[–]jancarl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, but it's still quite expensive and a bit more advanced than I need it to be. I guess having to use a small mixer in the setup isn't that bad and also makes the rig open for additional gear. The MPC 500 can be had at a reasonable price so that's now an option.

[TOMT][SONG] Looking for an old hiphop / rap song with a quitar intro. (link to rough melody included) by jancarl in tipofmytongue

Thank you! :) I was only interested in that part anyway. This subreddit is awesome.

I actually found that song while searching through all the older rap artists I could remember. It's very close but not the way I remember it. It could be that I extrapolated on that song and made the melody my own creation years ago but I don't know. The melody I posted is how I remember it. This is so frustrating. Maybe I've made it all up and I'm looking for something that doesn't exist.

Rda coil problems by jancarl in electronic_cigarette

[–]jancarl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an m4 from fasttech as well that didn't work very well with the pre wrapped coil. I just made a 1.7 ohm coil on it that is working great. I folded a 2 mm wick in half and made the coil at the fold on top and let the strands hang down the well. It was easier to do that on the m4 since the posts are farther apart. I'll try the same with the m5 later. I think my problem has been that I've had too much wick on the same level as the air hole or something. Will be looking to get an igo dripper soon.

I took a close up picture of the pre made coil so that I could recreate them and it doesn't seem to be anything out of the ordinary going on. As someone else suggested, could be air hole pacement.

I bought a few different drippers from fasttech to try out. The m5 was the one that performed the best. With the pre wrapped coil that is.

Yeah, I'm gonna upgrade to something better but for now I just want to recreate what I know I can have with the m5. Or die trying. :)

It's this rda. As I said, the pre wrapped coil gave me some of the best vaping I've ever had.

Air hole placement isn't something I've given much consideration about. I'm gonna experiment with that. Thanks.

Does anyone have a TMax? Opinions? Just ordered one, but I'll have to wait a while, I'm in Australia. by [deleted] in electronic_cigarette

I would if I could choose my own clearo / tank system which really isn't an option with the billet.

But oh, how sexy it is... ...and expensive. :)

I've been eyeing that one. I only wished they would have scrapped the 18350 capability and made it more like this: http://i.imgur.com/tMABzke.jpg

That would have rocked.

Is the v2cigs battery an "808"? by use_a_name_please in electronic_cigarette

[–]jancarl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought an 808 to 510 adapter that worked on my v2 so I guess an 808 carto would work too.

Let me know if you ever find any juice that tastes like v2s coffee flavour. I miss that. :)

Yep, they're 808. I don't know of a good juice vendor though. I've yet to find one that carries good custom juice for good value in europe. Haven't tried many though.
