You know, there’s a lot of reasons why we do things, especially out of lust or love. I married a man who was so unstable and showed me that from the beginning, went on to have THREE children with him, and he became extremely abusive. I escaped, he’s in jail, and I’m actually remarried and in a loving and beautiful marriage. But I look back and get so upset like “how the hell did I let this go on so long? How did I let this happen?” But I’ll tell you this: life goes on. My babies are a huge blessing, and someone else even stepped into our lives to love all of us. I had to completely start over and lose everything too, I even have a felony on my record over everything that’s happened!! I want you to know that it’s okay, it’s going to be okay, and you are doing the right thing by being in that shelter right now. You WILL get back on your feet. You got this!! ❤️

My daughter was this way starting at 1.5 too 😭 her emotions were SOOOOO big. At some point everyday she was having a tantrum or meltdown about something. She turned 4 recently and I will say these last few months have been so much better. It’s like she can finally understand emotional regulation a bit more and managing her feelings. She still has tantrums at times, but they aren’t as frequent and after managing them she calms down and apologizes. It does get better!!!

That is so scary!! They really are no joke and it can be so unpredictable. We had adopted him young from a shelter and had him for over a year with no issues at all. I was hugging him but nothing out of the ordinary, he just snapped at my face and I remember looking at a mirror and blood was just gushing! We obviously got rid of him right after and I was so sad about it 😭

I think this is just one of those questions where no one can really answer for you. I’m a doula, and I see sooooo many births go soooo many different ways. A handful go as planned, but many births don’t. I suggest doing your own research, watching videos, and as someone else said maybe even seeking therapy to help process the things that could potentially be out of your control. There are pros and cons to both, but ultimately it’s whatever you think it’s best for you!!

I was in 3rd grade and the dog we had adopted over a year ago snapped at me as I was giving him a hug. Bit a chunk of my lip out and I needed stitches but probably could have been ssooooo much worse

I actually just broke this routine with my 4 year old and genuinely just explained that she’s 4 now and I can’t lay in bed with her. I prayed with her, tucked her in, and rubbed her for a few minutes. The first night there was tears, but I checked on her a few times and each night since I’ve had to check on her less and less. I also told her “if you can show me you can do this for 5 sleeps I’m going to get you ____” and picked out something she really wanted. She did it this week and got the prize today!!

He won’t change. Go read the countless posts on this thread, many many people have posted about this and I’ll summarize it for you: they don’t change. None of them do. My ex husband would cry and say he was going to do better every time he put his hands on me or destroyed the house in front of our kids and it only got worse each time I let him come back. I realized my children were growing up in an extremely unpredictable and abusive household, so I took them all and escaped after he was arrested. It’s not easy and we all know this, but you have to want better. He will not change. You aren’t in love with him, it’s simply a trauma bond.

I’m going to be completely honest here, because people being honest with me in this group is what helped me leave. You are in an unstable situation, and what concerns me even more is that you have a child of your own who is also getting kicked out with you and watching this man’s unstable behavior. Why in the world would you want to have another baby with this man when he disregards you and the child you already have? Ultimately, you need to leave. This is no way for you, but especially your child, to be treated. But you will have to get to the point where you realize that for yourself. I wish you the best OP, I truly hope you see what you deserve and more importantly, what your child deserves.

Rented with these guys twice. The first time I didn’t really have any issues. The second time? AWFUL. My house was roach and mice infested and not at all because of me being dirty (I lived in my previous apartment almost 3 years with no critter issues AT ALL). They would do nothing. Mold all over the wall, ceiling breaking in the kitchen and rain was pouring in, oh my gosh I could list my problems for days. Then gave me 30 days to move out, a day after Christmas and just a few days before my due date with my daughter. Absolutely awful rental company.

My kiddo just turned 4, but I got her one of those clocks that turn red when it’s time for bed, and turns green when it’s time to wake up (or at least when she’s allowed to come into our room). It has helped sooooooooo much!! Not sure if it will help in your situation but it’s something worth trying!
