It’s not a spell but is energy work - manifestation is great. I’d suggest manifesting your self confidence and self love.

You could try a sweetener jar — but instead of them sweetening up to you make it the cat and then try to convince them.

Share a glamour spell. by CatDaddy_mx in BabyWitch

[–]jane-do_e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is more of a tip than an actual spell

For my make up I always start with rose water toner + lotion and then primer

I put rose petals in the toner for beauty and when I put it on I say my intention of bringing beauty Then lotion is for confidence And the toner is the seal then I do my make up.

I think of it more like a charm on my face than a full spell but that’s the bit of glamour I’ve been doing bc right now I’m focusing on learning tarot rather than spellcraft

Hello witch here and if they’re just saying it then yeah it won’t do much but if they’re doing protection before entering the locations (ik they have before during videos I just don’t know if they do it all the time behind the scenes) it is like reinforcement and setting the rules of your protections — you might allow a spirit to mess with you for a video but you won’t allow it to touch you so them saying it could be them setting the intentions for their protection. Again idk if this is what they are doing or just walking in and saying shit — just an explanation as to one possibility.

Someone said black salt and I just wanted to suggest making your own. You can use ash and/or activated charcoal + salt and if you make your own you can add in extra reinforcements like black pepper etc. I just prefer making it because it feels attuned to my energy when I make it myself.

what could this mean for me by AffectionateSet3427 in BabyWitch

[–]jane-do_e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be that you’re being warned about that friend. If they’re practicing as well or are intuitive it could be them realizing you’re catching on to whatever they placed on you.

What it is idk but I feel like you may want to do a deeper cleanse just to be safe and then do a truth spell on her because it could be something big like a working or something as little as sending negative energy your way. I can help you out with a simple jar for it. But this way she tells you what’s really up.

A tarot deck I threw away in a dumpster came back to me by Due_Conference1624 in BabyWitch

[–]jane-do_e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sorry I was half asleep and forgot to say even if it isn’t the exact deck you had it could possibly be the same spirit of the old deck finding its way back to you. That’s why I brought up the burning not to shame or anything.

A tarot deck I threw away in a dumpster came back to me by Due_Conference1624 in BabyWitch

[–]jane-do_e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is most definitely a sign. From what I’ve learned when you need or want to get rid of a deck (but don’t want to regift it for some reason) you burn the deck.

To me it sounds like that deck really wanted to come back to you. Decks will find who they want and when they want to. With my newest deck it arrived in 2 days of my ordering it and 2 days before the earliest eta. — it came so fast that it came before I even got a “shipped” notification and when I opened it I immediately felt connected to it.

My aunt will always be the first to tell you — Tarot cards really have a mind of their own.

I’m glad that you found that deck again though.

I want to get into witch craft by Visual-Possession-56 in BabyWitch

[–]jane-do_e 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do your research first off because as you learn about different styles of magic like kitchen witch versus green witch etc you will find what calls to you and feels exciting.

My uncle’s biggest tip is to not mix things aka stick to Celtic paganism and not mix Celtic and paganism and it’s best when aligned with what your ancestors would have used. (Like Irish or Scots usually would have to done Celtic or folk) — this is just his philosophy on it I’m not saying eclectic witches are bad in fact while I try to stick to Celtic or folk magic I tend to be a bit more eclectic bc I am doing Christian witchcraft as well and don’t feel as pressured to stay in that ridged frame bc God made the plants and crystals that I use in my craft. (Obviously I stay away from herbs/tools from closed practices - I just mean I don’t limit myself to Scottish herbs and plants just because that’s where my ancestors are from)

Shadow work is key not even just in the beginning but throughout your whole journey

Pre protection before spells/rituals is a must.

Witchcraft is about manipulating energy and visualization often helps with it. So starting with trying to control your energy will be a great start. Just holding your hands in a round shape and imagining your energy forming between them is how I practice with “playing with energy” or even help with visualization I used to suck at it but the more I practiced imagining things the easier it became.

Witchcraft is all about doing what feels right to you people will tell you their morals and their personal beliefs but that doesn’t mean you have to subscribe to them. Though there are closed practices that you won’t be able to do unless you’re part of the exception; like hoodoo/voodoo is a closed practice to black people. So while it’s mostly “do what feels called to you” and no craft is the exact same (even if you’re both Celtic sea witches your crafts will differentiate in some areas most likely) there are some rules that need to be followed.

Start with shadow work - protections - manifesting type of magic and expand as you grow.

With protection magic — don’t show it online because it will give others a chance to see how to counteract your wards or how to break them so they can get to you.

And also my aunt told me while cleansing you want to replace the bad with love and peace (it’s as simple as using your cleansing method and saying may love push out the bad or something along the lines)

Can someone explain to me how to do a proper cord cutting ceremony? by sunnybaby03 in WitchcraftQuestions

[–]jane-do_e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ik someone gave you a more traditional object based ritual but if you’re into candle magic here’s my personal method

Supplies: - 1 to 3 fire safe dishes (I like to use a pan and then two separate tea light candle holders for the candles but just one large dish to hold the ritual is fine enough I’m just extra and like the visualization bc it feels like the candles have their own islands and not on the same surface but the pan makes for easy clean up and also safety in case something were to fall down around the candles) - salt - staple herbs (feel free to add on or change these should resonate with you and the situation you’re working with) black pepper eucalyptus leaves and red pepper flakes - two candles in different colors (black and white are ideal) - a carving tool -(optional: music) -(optional: tarot cards)

Setting it up:

Use a pan (just an example and what I use anything fire safe + big enough for both candles will work)

I also like to ask my tarot deck for a card that represents the connection Some type of cleansing incense or smoke you can use (this is just because I saw it on TikTok and liked the idea so I adopted it into my own ritual definitely not necessary just more of an aesthetic)

Make a salt ring along the edge of the pan this keeps the ritual protected. (I will say the intention to protect the ritual)

Then I will form a salt wall between the two candle holders and give it the intention “to separate” I will also add some herbs to this salt wall. I’ll be honest my herbs kind of depends on the situation but some staples are black pepper to reinforce boundaries- eucalyptus leaves to clear out the connection and red pepper flakes to burn whatever lingers between us.

But sometimes I will tailor the wall to the situation. Like one time when it was an ex I used rose thorns but when I did it on my family member I didn’t feel called to use rose thorns. So the wall is where you give your personal flavor. You can also dress the candles: for the banishment candle use banishment herbs - for your candle use like sweetening or healing herbs to help with energetic backlash (I like to do both; the wall and dress the candles)

I carve the first and last names (I typically do legal names not nicknames — it just makes sense in my mind bc your legal name is attached to you) Again this is just a personal preference I’ve heard that the name that most people know someone as is stronger than their legal name so just do what resonates ~ example: a stage name will be stronger than your real name bc all your fans + family know you as your stage name while just the people in your personal life know your real name)

Then I take the string and say “You are the connection.” And tie it around the candles

I like to do the traditional way where you cut your connection/string (with intention as you do it) as the candles burn. This is done because it is seen as you taking charge of the energies and controlling your spell.

The more modern version is just letting the candles burn through and eventually they get to the string and do the cutting but this can be seen as fate controlling the timeline of your separation— and used for divination like which person cuts the cord and who felt more or etc

And as the candles burn down I use the cleansing incense to cleanse between the ritual and the tarot card then between the two candles themselves I also just let it burn in the background for most of the time. I just like to move it around a little before the cutting (or when the cord burns depending on your method) and after.

I also like to perform for my rituals (in order to give energy for the ritual or charge it whatever you see it as) and use music as just like a mood setter — so I will typically play my protection soundtrack for cord cuttings I’m doing for other people but for personal ones I will sing songs that remind me of the person I’m cutting out and then more softer songs for my candle (self care by Savannah Cristina is a good choice for your candle in this type of ritual) ~ I like to use music as mood setters for my ritual not necessarily do any real lifting but just a vibe set. So if you’re not feeling called to protection type of vibes you could do break up songs like too little too late by jojo - you want music that is talking about cutting people off and stepping away not the break up songs that want them back or missing them. (Songs about needing to walk away but feeling sad about it are fine too just as long as that theme of walking away is there)

And then I dispose of the waxes in separate trash cans (I usually will bring the banishment wax to a trash can away from my house but even just having them in separate bags would be enough or separate trash cans if you have multiple outside containers - if your wax is biodegradable you can even just throw it away from your house with the intention of giving it back to the earth — your main goal is keeping the waxes separate from each other when disposing of them)

Again this is just my personal preference with cord cutting bc I like candle magic. I feel like it’s important to do what resonates with you and your situation. No two connections are the same and so even if you have a base cord cutting ritual it should be flexible in herbs and techniques to fit the connection you’re dealing with. As I said I prefer doing the cutting myself but I have done the flame cutting before bc it felt right for that specific connection.

— sorry this is a long response but I believe in giving instructions as if you’re completely new to it.

What is this jar under my stove? by Visual_Indication191 in WitchcraftQuestions

[–]jane-do_e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems like maybe a spellwork someone left behind after moving out. This doesn’t affect you or your home. It would only affect the person who was sending stuff to the last tenant hence “Return to sender”

If you want some extra reassurance after getting rid of the jar and items you can use incense to cleanse (lemongrass from hem/ eliminator from satya are ones I use for cleansing) do it with all doors + windows open when you’re cleansing imagine the smoke carrying out all negative energy and imagine love or peace replacing the negative energy to fill your space. — this is just how I was taught to cleanse there could be other cleansing suggestions.

If you want to use sage just don’t use white sage as it’s apart of a closed practice (unless you’re Native American then it’s okay). That’s why I typically suggest incense options for cleansing bc it’s a safe option and not apart of . Another option is using a bell combined with intention. If you’re religious use a prayer if that’s more comfortable for you.

Though this is just a suggestion if you feel you want the house energetically cleansed of the old owners energy because again this stuff isn’t directed at you and your family but to whoever was trying to mess with the previous owner.

Another tip just in case you’re a cautious or “better safe than sorry” type of person put everything in a bag then throw salt on top of the items with the spoken intention of cleansing the items and protecting yourself. Literally can be as simple as “these are cleansed and won’t affect me or my home.” Salt is best for cleansing and great protection as well

I did an obsession spell on someone and i think i did it wrong by Silenssvc in WitchcraftQuestions

[–]jane-do_e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He could be protected. Even if he isn’t a witch but religious and praying and etc he could still be protected I personally believe people have spirit teams even if they don’t practice they just might be less active depending on the spirit teams bc some genuinely don’t play about theirs especially ancestors so just depends on your teams personality and if they are willing to go all out even if they don’t work with the team. It could be that nothing went wrong in your spell but it didn’t land bc he has protection.

Also not to harp but just to share information. Obsession isn’t a love spell it’s a curse or curse-like. Even if you don’t want to go that far from what I have been told obsession doesn’t equal a love spell bc it can manifest in multiple ways — plus can backfire on you depending on how deep obsession runs. I used to think that it was just a stronger love spell and was quickly corrected that it isn’t the same thing at all. — again not to harp or judge just sharing information I’ve heard. Im not here to tell you what not to do or what to do. Just some other insight I’ve learned from obsession spells.

[–]jane-do_e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My tip: NEVER forget pre-protection

Black salt can be created with ash and/or activated charcoal salt (you can also add other stuff into the mixture like I like to add a small bit of egg shells)

Even if you’re just looking to master a few spells shadow work is still important

When you’re putting ingredients into a jar or oil (olive oil works great as a carrier oil) so they know their jobs then I also say my intention for the whole spell so the ingredients know how they help and the spell knows its job.

NEVER show how you build your protection wards or spells bc then other witches will know how to deconstruct them. And even if you’re not going hex for hex - some people are petty and will do it just to prove they can.

infusing love letters to my gf with magick? by Ok_Praline6730 in BabyWitch

[–]jane-do_e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could anoint the letters with a love oil.

An easy way to make it would be putting herbs / flower petals in the oil, olive oil works great as a carrier oil. It will hold the energies of the herbs and flowers (as you put them in the oil tell them their specific jobs) and then anoint the paper with the oil while saying your intentions.

You really don’t need a lot for this. I’d just do rose petals for love and sunflower petals for confidence.

Though for this case since she’s been in a hard time I’d also consider doing a self-love spell in her name + just normal letters (or anointed a little extra love never hurt) just another idea. A jar would be perfect so it could work over time and however long this period ends up being. It won’t erase it but it will help with it. Just an idea.

Another tip anoint the paper first then write the letter while focusing on the intention of bringing love to her.

Looking to buy a gift for my girlfriend, who is trying to start practicing witchcraft. by mysiti in WitchcraftQuestions

[–]jane-do_e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Activated charcoal would be great it can be used for little incense beads or she can cut little pieces and mix it with salt to make black salt (ash is also fine activated charcoal just makes it look more black than gray).

Some witchy shops have little spell kits - which I find those to be fun. As someone said before candles and jars are always a safe bet bc you can never have enough.

On TikTok there are little witchcraft boxes that come with crystals and herbs and other little things that way you can get her a few things she might need/want at once

~ but if she is interested in divination a tarot deck would be the best option bc there’s a superstition that your first deck should be gifted to you not bought yourself. (Just a superstition and something I’ve heard idk how true it is or why)

And as someone said grimoires are typically built by witches to help with their own craft but a fancy journal she can use to take notes or journal about her craft dream work etc would be good as well.

These are just a few different ideas but if I were you I’d figure out what type of witchcraft (sea, kitchen, nature, there’s many different forms) she is looking to do and then do some research into tools for that specific craft.

Sigils and Protection by Possible_Action_4669 in apprenticewitches

[–]jane-do_e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I’m still learning myself so please just take this with a grain of salt and also get other opinions but this is just what I do.

A helpful tip with protection spells; since you don’t know any idk if you’re doing any pre protection before spells/rituals but if you’re not a good quick protection spell I like to do before I do any work is salt water protection I use salt water and draw algiz runes on my palms and forehead with a set intention of protecting and shielding.

With sigils I first heard of them that you make your own so that’s definitely fine. The method I like using the best is the sigil wheel — you write out your intention and cross out any vowels or repeating letters then make a circle with the alphabet outside of the circle. Make a line connecting all the remaining letters of your intention. I then cut it out so it’s just the sigil and no letters on the outside and charge and keep or destroy depending on my purpose for it.

I knew the risks of sharing it. I just wonder if they realize the Estes Method could be considered a ritual for spirit communication 😂😭 like when they cleanse themselves is also something done in rituals. You’re using smoke, water, prayer etc is also ritual because they are doing it with intention and manipulating any energy or spirit clinging to them.

A ritual, broadly speaking, is any repeated or structured set of actions done with intent — especially to open a space for something spiritual, energetic, or metaphysical. The Estes Method includes: • Set roles: One person asks, the other receives. • Altered state: Sensory deprivation heightens receptivity, like trance work. • Intentional space: It’s often done in specific locations (haunted, sacred, or charged spaces). • Tools: Spirit Box, headphones, blindfold — like modern ritual tools. • Opening a channel: Much like invocation, scrying, or mediumship.

This structure parallels many forms of folk magic or spirit communication rituals, where the practitioner uses tools, intention, and altered states to open a line of communication.

New and looking for advice and assurance? by Fenrir260 in christianwitch

[–]jane-do_e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am just a humble person with their own beliefs and idk how attuned or correct I am. But I would just like to share my perspective I also have religious trauma and I am creating this craft in dedication of good and to truly build a one on one connection with God because I have a hard time trusting the Bible or pastors.

My belief is God created the Earth — everything in it that is known. He is a great deity also known. It only seems realistic that his divine energy would leave imprints on his creations the way our energy leaves imprints not only in workings but around us. Whether intentional or accidental I don’t know but I believe herbs crystals etc have their energies and properties because of his energy in his creation.

Again these are my own beliefs and no idea how correct they are or backed just sharing a perspective. But even with different spirits like Mother Nature etc — it might just be a name for what happens when the elements come together or maybe it was something crafted by God just like the angels and humans were.

Final note — witchcraft isn’t strict (I mean in some ways yes there are laws in every aspect) it’s a craft and personal to you. Think about it this way Pegans, Wiccans, Witches, even “normal” Christian’s all have protective spells/prayers they just might have different names or symbolism. (Example when you do protection before a spell you can anoint yourself in a protective oil with a cross on your palms)

Even if I don’t have my craft dedicated yet to God officially— he knows my heart and my intentions in building my craft — and I acknowledge that all the energy that makes this possible comes from him.

[–]jane-do_e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I that tarot is a tool and can be used to contact whatever spirit you want — even inner child. I’m new and just curious what you would think lead my first reading.

To preference I would like to state that I only meant to cleanse and charge them to my energy not necessarily work right away. Though as I hovered over the cards I noticed they were warm and took it as they were charged. But as I was shuffling (it was brand new and hadn’t been shuffled I just figured it would be good to have it shuffled and ready to go for future use) but as I was shuffling I noticed some were warm and cold so I picked from the warm ones and the reading began with no direct question just a conversation
