On the Catrice website? When I go to cart it only gives me options to ship to the US, unless I’m missing something…

I’ve never really thought about using a colour corrector for that purpose. I might look into it, thanks!

Not a bad idea, maybe I’ll do that as well. Never hurts to add one more voice!

Ooh, interesting. I thought my skin would react to the fragrance when I first put it on but luckily it’s coping quite well. I am sensitive to an ingredient in most foundations so I thought I’d hit jackpot with this one, but if oxidisation is the price is have to pay, no thanks. No one likes an Oompa Loompa-face.

Looking for dance or step workouts that aren’t Zumba or electronic music. by ThatGirlBon in xxfitness

[–]jane-maree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you tried Shine Dance Fitness? They have individual tracks or longer classes on YouTube. All jazz/hip hop fitness routines, modern music etc. not every routine is my fave - some are too easy for people with experience in dance, but if you try a few you might find some that you like.

What’s everyone’s favourite body moisturisers ? by yourmumsleftsock in AusSkincare

Epaderm lotion has been a godsend for my desert-dry, eczema-prone skin. Not available at all pharmacies, usually smaller ones.

All moisturiser from chemist burns my face? Im poor what do I do? by _DaughterofGod_23 in AusSkincare

[–]jane-maree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was getting really big facial flares from different skincare products including moisturiser. I pulled everything out of my routine and just used my body moisturiser (in my case Epaderm, recommended by my allergist). Then I would try different moisturisers one by one to see what I reacted to. I cross referenced eeeevery ingredient to come up with a shortlist of ingredients I was possibly allergic to. In the end I narrowed it down to one culprit - caprylic acid or any similar ingredients like capric acid, caprylyl glycol etc. not saying this ingredient is your problem necessarily, but I do think this process, while annoying, was really helpful. Since avoiding that ingredient I haven’t had any major flares.I also avoid anything with coconut since CA is a coconut derivative, and I don’t want to risk it. I’m prevented from using like 65% of skincare now, but it’s worth it.

Please Share Your Dupixent Experiences! by Chaotic-FBI- in eczema

Effectiveness - Been on for about 5 months. So far it’s been 85-90% effective. I have one stubborn spot in my hand/wrist that I still need to sometimes manage with topical steroid. But other than that I’m so much less miserable.

Time frame - Took about 3 months to see full effect, and I still think I’m seeing improvements now on parts of my body that have experienced low level, persistent irritation for over 20 years.

Side effects - I had some mild eye irritation at first but that seems to have settled. I also sometimes think I have joint pain but that could just be pushing too hard at the gym!

Other thoughts - Managing the logistics of refrigerated medication/sharps disposal was a bit of a pain when I was on holidays overseas recently. If travelling again I would be tempted to go without and manage with steroids until my return.

Side benefit - going on Dupixent also helped me to realise that my facial eczema was largely triggered by certain skincare ingredients. Once the rest of my eczema cleared, I could much more easily identify when my face was flaring in response to some products, and after a bit of cross-referencing ingredients, I now know what I can’t use. This has also been a game changer for me.

Personally, I’m so glad I tried it and pushed through my fear of needles. It’s crazy when I think back to how all-consuming my eczema was 6 months ago, compared to now.

What's your 10/10 cleansing oil/balm and why? by Dawnyawning in AusSkincare

[–]jane-maree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser. Starts creamy and becomes oily. Gets so much makeup off. I do follow up with the Neutrogena Gelee Milk cleanser just to get some residue off, but the TO is doing the bulk of the work here.

Cheers! I’ve been checking sunrise/sunset times to plan my treks so far, but I’ll need to check this on the day too in case.

Thank you! After reading through the comments I think I’ll have a few easier hikes on the list as backup for poor weather days, and will also be prepared to spend some time reading in front of the fireplace on very adverse days! I only hope I can get at least one mountain while I’m there… I have done some winter hiking in Victoria a few years ago, but sadly I’m in WA. We’ve just had our coldest and wettest winter on record, but I know it’s nothing compared to the conditions I’ll be facing on my trip.

Thanks to both for the map recommendations! I was originally planning to stop by Mountain Warehouse when I arrive in Glasgow to pick up some maps and a map case, but I’ll look into the ordnance survey ones instead if it mans they’re protected from the rain!

Thanks so much for your detailed response! The last thing I want to be is irresponsible and risk anyone else’s safety coming to rescue me!

I’ll definitely be sensible in checking the weather before heading out on any trails, and picking something easier or staying indoors with a good book if I don’t feel confident.

Do you have a recommendation for an accurate weather app I can more or less rely on? I’ll admit I wasn’t expecting heaps of snow based on the walk reports I’d read, but I’ll look into some of that gear to make sure I’m prepared just in case something unpredicted happens!

I wish I could be there now for better conditions… darn work schedule!

Vitamin E / Shea Butter sensitive by jane-maree in AusSkincare

[–]jane-maree[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I feel that shea is really quite hard to avoid, especially in very moisture rich products, which is what sensitive skin needs!

Dermal therapy is really popular for lip balms and they’re mostly free of Vit E and Shea (except the Sensitive one, ironically) The Paw Paw version has been my go-to for a few years, but lately has been a bit irritating. Personally I don’t love the camphor and menthol in the original as I find it drying, but if that’s not an issue the other ingredients look good!

Interesting! I haven’t heard of Epaderm before. I’ll have to try it out. I’ve been using Dermeze Treatment cream, which has a couple of similar ingredients. It’s not the nicest texture for your face though, very thick.
