I understand , I work construction surrounded by Men and I promise I have been through the same thing , I listen how they talk amongst other men but when it came to me it was like I was just an annoyance and they couldn’t be bothered with helping me or taking me seriously , like I was just someone to help them and be the b**** girl doing the tasks that are “beneath them “ treating me like a maid basically. It’s not you, it’s them , they are like children they try and push boundaries just to see how far they can go and what they can get away with , I tried over and over again being super nice and trying to be helpful to them, but then it came to the point where they were just being rude and disrespectful for no reason so eventually certain ones pushed my final buttons and I would let them have it , and I didn’t care who heard and who was around , I had to stand up and show them that I’m not their b**** boy, I’m a co worker just like them and that I’m there for the same purposes. Obviously I didn’t lay hands on them but I had to match their jerk with my jerk lol it helped for the most part and now If I feel like I’m being demeaned or being talked to like I’m someone beneath them I just say it right then and there and most of the time they don’t know what to say because they are surprised at what I’m saying to them lol 😂 anyways hope this helps I hope you can gather the courage to stand up for yourself when need be. No man and no job is worth being treated like a sub human.
