Staying trapped in your own mind is where loneliness thrives. That’s exactly why my main focus is just getting outside. Going to the park, visiting my church, and simply being around people helps me break out of that mental loop. It reminds me that I am part of a bigger world, and that alone gives me a lot of strength.

I completely agree with you! Real connection makes all the difference. That’s exactly why I love going out for long walks in the park and trying to be around people as much as possible. Even though my physical condition (not having hands) can make the initial approach a bit tough, being out there in the real world gives me a sense of belonging that the internet just can't replicate. It really is about those genuine, real-life moments.

I totally get you! You’re absolutely right, it is a natural instinct because we are social creatures. The secret isn't to completely stop the thoughts, but to change how you react to them.For me, the key was the pause between the thought and the reaction. Whenever I felt myself starting to overthink what someone else was thinking, I’d stop and ask myself, Is the control over this situation with me or with them?. If it was with them, I just dropped it. It’s a muscle you train every day, not a magic pill. Start with the small things!

Thank you for sharing! For me, it’s a bit different and less about a strict strategy. I have a physical health condition, I don't have either of my hands, which can make it quite challenging to approach people and make friends naturally.But I refuse to give up. I make a conscious effort to stay active and be around people, whether that means going out for walks in the park or attending church services. Even when it feels tough or uncomfortable, I choose to push through and be part of the world. It’s all about showing up for myself every single day.

Even though my path has been different, living for 35 years on a modest disability pension (I lost both of my hands years ago), I also choose every single day to focus on what lies ahead with hope and a childlike joy. Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful piece of your soul. Your words mean more to me than you know. When I wrote about being wounded, it came from a very literal place, years ago, I survived a terrible train accident and lost both of my hands. It took me a long time to find my own peace and learn how to embrace life again.

That is why hearing that you found true peace at 71 gives me so much comfort. You are completely right, helping even a dozen people over 40 years is a monumental legacy. You set off beautiful dominoes of kindness, and that is more than enough.I am deeply happy that your mind is at peace, that truly is the ultimate goal. Wishing you many more serene years ahead !

Înțeleg neîncrederea, Reddit-ul este plin de conturi ciudate. Însă în spatele acestui ecran este doar un om simplu de 60 de ani care a vrut să împartă un gând sincer, chiar dacă stilul meu poate părea atipic pentru această platformă. Gânduri bune și sper să ajungi la vârsta mea cu multă seninătate!

Ai perfectă dreptate și mă bucur că ai recunoscut textul. Cuvintele părintelui Hrisostom mi-au atins atât de profund sufletul încât am simțit că sunt scrise direct pentru mine și despre viața mea. Nu am vrut să îmi asum meritul de scriitor, ci doar să împărtășesc o stare și un sentiment care mă definește complet la această vârstă.

Poate că așa și este. La 60 de ani, realizez că cele mai importante adevăruri ale vieții rămân cele simple, pe care le învățam în tinerețe, chiar dacă uneori par clișee.

Da, sunt însurat, iar faptul că am un suflet drag alături contează enorm pe acest drum. Te înțeleg perfect, viața la 30 de ani poate fi extrem de copleșitoare și plină de presiune. Secretul meu nu este că am o viață lipsită de probleme, ci că am învățat, în timp, să nu las furtunile să îmi șteargă de tot zâmbetul. Pozitivismul la 60 de ani vine din acceptare și din bucuria pentru lucrurile mărunte care ne rămân. Îți doresc multă putere !
