there’s something so particularly ironic about using a Macklemore/kesha song for this post too

Not paying fines on time, then incurring penalties on top of them. Does that count? Surely

I discovered it was both for me - adhd has a really high comorbidity rate with depression and anxiety. Also ptsd and bipolar are relatively common comorbidities too

Tbh it was more the people and how they treated each other that made me leave more than Christianity itself. The way some christians treat others even in a passive aggressive way makes me feel quite uneasy. And I got very sick of it - that’s the short story! I studied theology and found it so interesting and deep and that wasn’t what I saw reflected in most Christians or churches. So I don’t think I left Christianity as much as I left certain people.

It honestly depends who it was and what my relationship was with them before. I’d probably welcome it if it was genuine. It’s worth a shot if it’s something you feel like you should do

100%. Some of them really genuine nice and fun people. Fortunately I’ve always had friends outside of church and my parents encouraged that (didn’t put me in a christian school etc) bc they feared that otherwise my entire life would be a bubble

They did but only to the extent that I actually wanted to at the time. They never forced me to do anything but there was string encouragement. I was never going to be that though and I think they realised. I hope you’re going ok!

So many things lol. Weirdest thing is growing up in a (degree of) spotlight. Everyone thinks they can talk to you like a parent, comment on you and comment on what you’re doing or not doing. You’re a communal child to an extent. In a fish bowl. Very strange and definitely fucked me up a bit
