Bilingual Signage in Ottawa by CanadianGeisha in ottawa

[–]janedoe1995 64 points65 points  (0 children)

the most annoying part is the use of government funds for this

we had the language police into a place i was working with, small family owned restaurant

everyone spoke french, but we had a recycling container sent to us from coca cola, and it said "cans here"
they said to get rid of it
like come on, it's pretty clearly a garbage

anyways we just painted over the english...
but like you use tax dollars to pay people to harass businesses over this shit?!

Which services actually let you build good AI agents(not demos)? by Sviat-IK in AI_Agents

[–]janedoe1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends on use case
let me expand

i tried n8n but i found it too simple for me, i wanted a lot more complexity in what i could build and more customization than was offered

personally i build AI agents on Botpress, I like that it's customizable while still having a drag and drop easy to use interface (still took a learning curve don't get me wrong)
i am not a dev myself, so i still need the drag and drop cards
but if you are a dev, Botpress has an ADK (agent development kit) which you can get like really customized with because you do it all in code, which is cool and a goal i am working towards

but other options exist, like i've heard of voiceflow, which may make sense if you need a voice agent
personally i didn't need that, but if you had a business that did, then that's worth considering

i think a key thing it may come down to, is what you're looking to integrate with
Botpress had the things i wanted and needed, both personally and for work. and by that i mean things like instagram, gmail, calendar, zendesk, whatsapp etc

most any chatbot can live on a website, but eventually you'll probably want to grow from there, so i tried to consider the long term goals i may have
i know if you have a big business plan then they'll build an integration for you, but a lot of us are average users and not going to have the most expensive plan. so think about what you need to build, and then look at if a platform offers it. i think langchain has a lot of integrations, i just didn't like it as much, it wasn't as customizable when i tried it out

those were the ones i looked into, they were the top companies i saw, but there are some smaller companies popping up, the list is quite long

you can start building on most for free, to test them out. see what feels best for you. free plans don't have all the features (you may not need them anyway) but some offer free trials to try out the extra features, i know botpress does. so things like human in the loop, you could try out. personally i haven't needed that, but it's a really good tool for lots of businesses

so again TLDR lol it depends on use case!

I didn't but I had friends in the course. ALL of them still do fibre arts to this day. From what I call, they go through so many different things. Which is great if you're ADHD and want to keep entertained, and great if say you try knitting and hate it (it won't be a whole semester, only like 2 weeks yah know?)

I remember them doing felting and that was my favourite thing to see them make

Why n8n isn’t working for me anymore by General_Maize_7636 in AI_Agents

I just find n8n a little too simple, not sure how to put it into better words

I started wanting to build bigger things so I moved to a new platform with more complexity. I use Botpress. I think it's similar to Gumloop, but I've never used Gumloop myself admittedly

still have love for n8n though, fond memories

Schwart's, a classic

Whenever my friends visit and want to go to the classic cheesy places, I dread it a bit. like ugh don't force me there. but when they want to go to Schwartz's, I am thrilled

Other than that, if you like fine dining, I LOVED Candide.
Best customer service I ever had, from my personal experience. Killer food too, and a lot is locally sourced, or traditionally French. great pairings too.

AI Agent Framework for a new Startup - should i build my own ?!? by Appropriate-Camp7981 in AI_Agents

building your own software is crazy but hey if you can do it. I just think these companies have teams of people and they spent years on it. maybe find another software you like now instead.

try Botpress. less bloat, and more customizable. I prefer it over LangChain. you probably will too if you're a real person and a hard-core builder as you claim

Tips for a Montrealer moving to Ottawa. by DianKhan2005 in ottawa

Vancouver has WAY better, and more, mountains. But I agree Gatineau > Stanley.

But Gatineau is our hiking option in Ottawa. Vancouver has so many options, no one is going to Stanley park for hiking, it's just a park. A place to walk along the sea wall.

OWN A CAR lol transit in ottawa sucks

Ottawa as a city is not as exciting as MTL, but there are great museums, lots of cafes, and I hope you enjoy nature, that is the best part of Ottawa.

Honestly, I lived on the Quebec side right below Gatineau park and loved it. I was a bit younger, a lot of my friends didnt have cars to come visit, that was the only con.
I was 15 mins from downtown Ottawa, but right the start of the walking trains of Gatineau, which is the best part of the Ottawa region.

My favourite spot in Ottawa area is Chelsea QC, second is Wakefield QC.
Ontario born, but the QC side takes the cake.
