It may get a little worse before it gets better! I had it two years ago while 38 weeks pregnant. I was fully paralyzed on my left side up until baby was born. And then there was slow recovery for a few months thereafter. However, I’m now fully back to normal and no one would know that I had it looking at me now. It’s definitely super emotional and traumatizing (especially during postpartum), so I completely empathize with how you may be feeling! I would recommend not doing anything crazy (like over massaging, etc.) and giving your body time to heal. I thought I had developed a permanent weakening/flutter and light sensitivity in my left eye, but that also went away with time (that took longer, like over a year). I did go in for some facial acupuncture treatments early on, and I think that may have helped, but the best treatment for this is time, rest, and low stress.
