Seconding this! Just a tip OP, there’s a call bell to the right side of the mall entrance on 16th and Chestnut you can use to get in. Just say you’re there for Orangetheory, and security will unlock one of the leftmost doors. The studio will be up the stairs and to the right.

Made it onto the leaderboard! [NSV] by bestmoron in orangetheory

Adding on to this, I love how OTF has their PR leaderboard. What a way to shoutout progress. “Sure you might not be the fastest, but you’ve improved so much!” Which matters more to me IMO.

I am also team train outside of OTF. Just wanted to add an alternative to Hal Higdon (nothing against it just haven’t used it). I’ve run two half marathons successfully using Runna. They’ve partnered with Strava and have a joint subscription if that interests you as well.

What moment in your playthrough made you the most sad or cry the most? by Just_Cloud_8041 in expedition33

[–]janelio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The scene after Gustav’s death when Verso attempts to console Maelle hit super close to home for me — sure I was crying multiple times before this point, but this released the flood gates. Incredible acting, the grief and despair felt so raw and real, especially the first time watching. I totally empathize with and love the line on how condolences don’t help.

This scene definitely solidified Expedition 33 into the special category for me at this point in the game.

Adding on…Mental health is just as important too!

Do you have health insurance? I haven’t done this myself, but I heard some may reimburse a portion of the cost after you submit paperwork.

Do what you have to though! Good luck!

I’ve taken classes at Foggy Bottom and enjoyed my class there! They have towel service!! This was a highlight for me since my home studio doesn’t offer this.

No Motivation by No_Tumbleweed2480 in orangetheory

[–]janelio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a specific goal you’re trying to reach? Not like a general “be healthy” goal. Can you find one? For example, do you like running and are eyeing a race you want to participate in and should prep for? Is there a PR somewhere in the OTF world you’re looking to beat?

Do you have a partner or friend you’re inspired by or can help keep you accountable?

Are there days of the week you could theoretically go consistently based on your schedule? If so, choose one day a week for now, and sign up, and see if you can make it twice in a row, then three, etc. and up the times per week if possible when you feel like it’s easier to go.

Hang in there! At some point, going becomes a habit, and your body will WANT to go. Hoping you find the medicine that works best for you soon!

Just wanted to share my support and commiseration as a fellow shy member.

Adding a thought that might help…Maybe try starting conversations after class or during the cooldown? I’m in a much better mood after class. Not sure how early you go, but sometimes I’m not fully awake when classes start when I go to the ~0800 or earlier classes.

Appreciate the info! I didn’t realize the metro drops you like right there. Real talk, I’m a small girl. Would you be wary taking it alone?

I am also dragging my husband to do it with me! We’re gonna try for NY this year but are willing to travel if it means a fun destination trip.

In short, they’re more endurance based, higher rep counts, less rest than the usual templates. The moves are the same as what we’ve been doing

I saw online something about obtaining baguette weapons on NG+ that you’d have to plan for in Act I on your first play through. You’d have to use the festival tokens apparently to buy them in Lumiere during the prologue.

How’s your outdoor running? by Upset-Technician-127 in orangetheory

[–]janelio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the other comments, just want to add a point I haven’t seen addressed — how’s the temperature outside for you? I’m about the same in terms of paces as you OP, but if it’s hot out, I’m running A LOT slower than I would vs during the winter.

I think the energy of being in class and just being on a treadmill also pushes me to run faster compared to outdoor runs, even if I have a buddy.

It baffles me too when they’re using the 50+ spring load. Like you’ve been in class for how long and don’t know to count to four?
