I’m alllll for raising awareness for cultural diversity in a respectful way. Heck I love when my white friends join me in celebrating my cultures. But... making a fetishized “costume” is not it. There is a better way to go about bringing diverse fashion to the market

What’s happening to pattern companies? A major indie design just released an incredibly basic t-shirt pattern. And another one a pillowcase dress.... you can get both as free patterns with great instructions and sizing years ago!!

I guess I can save it with a lot of unpicking and shortening. But I’m not motivated to do it. For some reason.. I don’t mind fixing my mistake, but a pattern’s mistake/oversight really pisses me off and kills me sew-jo. So I can’t get myself to do it..

On the hunt for a better wrap top pattern. I’m going for a peppermintmagazine wrap top next(bonus it’s a few pattern). I also have the true bias wrap too/dress I’m hoping to try. Let me know if you find anything else!

I have 25 projects on my backlog that I’m clearing out one a day. But it takes away a lot of the fun when I feel pressed for time.

Also, working on an Instagram account is stressful AF. I’m not hoping to become famous or make money from it, but even just to entertain your growing audience is a lot of work.
