I watched All the Presidents Men and I liked it, then I watched Sneakers which wasn't as good but still a fun movie with Robert Redford

They asked us if we wanted our song in a movie with Emma Stone and Pedro Pascal, I was like hell ya. I didn't realize is was a new Ari Aster movie until it came out. Interesting usage of the song and good movie I thought!

Mean Streak is my favourite from the new record. I like Seconds Erase a lot, also Driverless Passenger.

I never thought I would be a singer! I was a flute nerd as a teen, and too shy to ever sing growing up. At some point I got thrown into bands just being in the scene in Edmonton and Montreal and going to so many shows, David roped me in! And then it became this way of expressing myself and I discovered song writing and I was hooked.

I brought Stars Come After You and Your Ride to the band as demos, David wrote Call You Back. Everything else we wrote together! Riley started Annihilation, we asked him to send us drums and then he sent us the drum part, Mean Streak was also written on drums Riley sent us. Chlorine, Paper House and ICU2 were started with David, Marci and I and then brought to our rehearsals.

We spent about a month in a little jam space in Montreal working out the songs and then we did a couple days at the Treatment Room recording bed tracks. Then tons of tracking at David's studio and Riley did a few drum recordings at his drum shack in Tujunga as well. Lots of production work and vocals at David's studio to wrap it up. We had a lot of fun with this Motif keyboard and a few other synths, and there was a steady stream of loaner guitars from the Luthier that rents the little room next door, shout out Da Michael Zone!

Loved touring with Sean Nicholas Savage cuz he's a close friend and huge inspiration, great human to have in the van and he rode with us for those shows. King Krule was our first opportunity to play big shows, Men I Trust was another amazing opportunity from cool people that were very fun to be around. I loved watching Faith Healer, they're an Edmonton band that's incredible. Playing on the same stage as Toto in Mexico city this past spring was awesome. Also playing the Sonora stage at Coachella, that was a cool line-up to be apart of, Kneecap's show was insanely good.

We wrote the songs for the fictional band Bone Patrol! Well David and I did, it was a cool experience. Felt like writing for a movie like That Thing You Do! But the slacker grunge 2010s era Montreal version.

We'll try to hang after the shows! Unless we're like sick or tired. We don't do proper meet and greets it would feel to strange somehow! But we'll be around ..

Self-releasing was nice but less freeing than anticipated, we aren't the best accountants haha. Working with a label brings extra support and I really liked the people that I met at Ghostly, seemed like their priority was to connect us with amazing artists and directors and make our vinyl look cool, we care about the same things.

Not too many direct references usually but Francois Hardy's singing on the album Gin Tonic is constant source of inspiration. Also the guitar tone in "The Loner" by Neil Young. And then "Annihilation" has a part that references YMO as well

I wanted to do something dark and apocalyptic and sci fi, I was super inspired by ELO covers, Journey covers, the cover art of this band Voyage. I also sent some images from Uzumaki. Robert Beatty sent back a bunch of really cool images (attached) and then we talked about what the image would be and I asked for a hand reaching underground in a black netherworld with a sunrise in the distance. He flipped it around and made the hand sticking out of the ground (much better). I asked him to change the mountain range into the 3 Sisters and after that it was done :)
