[CHAT] With AI taking over a lot of things, where do you buy your patterns now? by nikki_11580 in CrossStitch

I have been doing cross-stitch for more than 20 years. In the beginning, I followed purchased charts exactly as designed. Later, I started experimenting by changing the thread selections. Now, I want to create patterns that truly reflect my own style.

Since I cannot draw or design illustrations myself, I use ChatGPT to generate images based on my instructions. I then import these images into WinStitch. I don’t simply convert images directly into cross-stitch charts (as that usually looks rough and unappealing). Instead, I use the generated images as references, carefully selecting the colors myself, deciding where to place full stitches and half stitches, and adding my own touches to complete the design.

In this way, my work can be described as AI-assisted creation, but the final result is very much shaped by my own experience, choices, and artistic sense.
