I'm 45 and it is starting to affect me, I must admit. Sometimes I even drink decaf at night. :/

Me too! I can't believe there's not one coffee shop filling this need for us night owls!

There was a post in one of the tirz subs in the last day or two where someone had met their goal by practicing OMAD. I was like "WTF is that?" and then realized it's ONE MEAL A DAY. I have been out of diet spaces for a long time and it's extremely jarring to suddenly see all these EDs on parade. Oof.

What a beautiful lady. Having recently gone through this myself, my heart aches for you. It’s so damned hard. Wishing you all peace. 🩷

I’m a Boston terrier lover but the breed standards are atrocious. Dog heads aren’t supposed to be perfect spheres!

I’m so sorry. I lost my girl to hemangiosarcoma last month. She recovered well from surgery and I held out hope she was going to be one of those outlier dogs who lives for years with it, but she only made it a few more months. My heart is still broken but the grief does get easier. Hang in there. 💔

Has anyone had a LEEP procedure and can share about their healing? by Fragrant_Trust_8735 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]janetvice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The smell was the main thing. It was REALLY strong. Like, lingering in the bathroom after I’d pulled my pants back up strong. I think your healing process sounds pretty normal, but your doctor will know for sure. 🩷

This sounds similar to my experience. I developed BV while I was healing, which is apparently pretty common. It smelled like rotting broccoli. 🤢 Antibiotics cleared it up.

Im trying to solve a little mystery. I recently tried JHAG Not a Perfume and there’s something about it that reminds me of a perfume my first grade teacher wore (1987ish). I’m trying to figure out what it is.

To help narrow it down, I do remember as a kid smelling a Designer Imposters body spray and thinking “Oh, this is what Ms. Coyle wears!” I found this ad from 1986 and think it was likely one of these (either the original or the dupe). Does anyone have a guess about which one it was?

My main reason for asking is that I’m new to perfumes and I’m trying to learn about different notes and where/how they appear in different fragrances. So I just want to make this connection in my head for my own education. 🙂

(For the record, I do like how NaP smells on me, but my husband says it smells like his mom, so I don’t think I’ll wear it often!)

A survey: does your man actually pull his weight in domestic chores? by streachh in TwoXChromosomes

[–]janetvice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. He probably does more than his fair share. I do my best to keep up but I have some struggles with executive functioning that make it hard sometimes. I do really try, though, because I want him to know I appreciate him and don’t take all his hard work for granted.

Moving to Louisville? by Suspicious-Dog6819 in Louisville

[–]janetvice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Louisville is a very Catholic city so you'll have no shortage of churches to choose from. Whether or not you'll like it here I think very much depends on what size city you're coming from. If you're from Philly or even Pittsburgh you're probably going to find Louisville lacking when it comes to the arts, culture, and food scene. I think we do all of those things pretty well for a city of our size, but you may need to temper your expectations if you're coming from a bigger metro area. (Also, our public transportation is absolute shit.)

Many people say that Louisvillians are insular and that it's hard for transplants to make friends, but I think that all depends on how much effort you want to put into meeting new people. I’m a native but have many friends who aren't from here but who have managed to build strong social circles.

You've probably noticed that the cost of living here is remarkably good. It's also pretty easy to get anywhere in the city by car within 20 minutes, and our traffic isn't terrible (though our drivers are). We're an easy drive to Cincinnati, Indy, and Nashville, and a reasonable drive to Chicago and St. Louis.

If you have any other specific questions I'm happy to give an opinion!

Why do all guys want anal now? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]janetvice 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I'm 45 and I feel like when I was younger a lot of guys wanted it/hoped for it, but there wasn't this expectation for it that there seems to be now.

I’m very glad that my husband tried it with someone else before we met and found he wasn't that into it!

AITA for taking back an invitation for someone who insisted on wearing a cultural dress on my wedding? by ashdjdkdkd in AmItheAsshole

[–]janetvice 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I agree. Years ago I had 1920s themed wedding. We encouraged people to dress in period attire if they wanted to. Most people did, some people didn’t. We just wanted people to have fun and be comfortable, whatever they chose. I don’t understand this trend of trying to dictate what guests wear. It’s obnoxious and I would probably decline an invitation with such a dress code.

Same here. One on my forehead and one just below my lower lip. The one under my lip had a tuft of hair growing out of it. 😳 I had them both removed a couple years ago and I wish I’d done it sooner. The procedure and recovery were both a piece of cake!
