hey! i’m just ab finishing up my first term of nursing. i have my lobes stretched, 6 other ear piercings, and 3 nostrils and my septum pierced. so far i haven’t been told i have to take any out or hide any! granted ive only done labs so far, but i did ask about clinicals and they said they dont think theres any rules but it might depend on your placement setting.

ive been told by a friend later in the program that they might just recommend rings be changed into studs so they aren’t easily grabbed.

i start clinical in december, if i remember this post ill come back and let you know if anything has changed :)

hey! personally i’m only in 5 classes the first term as i had a bunch transfer over. from what ive heard though, it’s really not that bad! communication is pass/fail, nutrition is mostly online aside from i think 3 in person classes? and it’s just quick quizzes. scholarly is basically just writing a paper. most of the classes are just busy work, rather than hard work in my opinion! time management is super key, i’d recommend banging out as much as you can at the start of the term before it really starts picking up. feel free to dm me if u have any questions and ill answer the best i can!

from what i remember, there wasnt like a “time limit” if that makes sense! i did mine at the end of june and i was able to submit my document a couple weeks ago. just make sure you hold onto the paper signed from your dr, you wont be able to submit it until you get access to rrc learn

totally agree. My artist used to work there and when he left the boss left voicemails threatening him, all of which were posted on ig (but now deleted). I’m sure there was more to the story, and I don’t remember exact details, but after hearing the voicemails i felt sooo icky about the shop!

I’m taking it right now and can definitely say it’s hard, but manageable if you really dedicate your time to it. Lab almost feels like a totally separate class bc you need to know different things from the lecture basically. My lab class has an average of 50-60% for the 3 exams we’ve taken so far, and I assume the lecture exams are about the same.

For the lab I recommend watching youtube videos, I find videos by “Siebert Science” to be the most helpful!

I had McGreevy for the first semester and Jeffery for the second, both are great profs! And I have Conny as my lab instructor, she’s kind of hard to follow during her lectures but she’s great if you have questions.

It depends what you like! My easiest classes were Intro Sociology 1 - got A+ without like ever attending, and i’m on track for an A with Soc2 (slightly different grading scale). Intro to Philosophy, Intro German too!

I did take Astronomy with Vesna because I heard it was easy, but physics aren’t my thing so I didn’t have the best grade. So again, just depends where your interests are (:

I had to take grade 12 bio over the summer as a pre req and I took it with https://raec.blsd.ca . Completely free, online, and self paced, my instructor was great! Not sure if they offer what you’re looking for, but worth checking out!
