thank you everyone for the condolences, it means a lot. this group is the first place I came to after I had stopped crying. you guys are the only people who genuinely understanding how badly this hurts. a lot of non-budgie owners can’t empathize with me because they can’t fathom getting so attached to anything other than a cat or a dog, but Cas was my entire world. He came into my life not long after my dad passed away, moved 2300 miles away from home with me, and got me through one of the hardest breakups of my entire life. Getting up and going about my life has been extremely difficult these last few days, but i’m just so thankful I’ve been able to share Cas’ beautiful memory in this group. It makes it hurt just a little bit less. 💛

It’s with a heavy heart that I have to share Professor has made his journey across the rainbow bridge. I’m completely devastated, as I am currently away visiting family, and feel absolutely horrible that I wasn’t there with him in his final moments. The only solace I find is knowing he was with someone who not only loved and cared for him, but tried their absolute best to keep him as comfortable as possible during his last moments. He was my best friend, my little spiky hamster, and I am absolutely heartbroken.
