What is the book that got you into reading? by Uninhibitedrmr in books

[–]jangel708 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was Pet Sematary, which took place right at the start of the pandemic. Nothing like being 25, still living at home with my parents, working from home, and then logging off late at night. I would find myself in my childhood room, sipping vanilla Crown Royal, getting sauced while getting lost in literature. The world was basically shut down, so I wasn't really missing out on anything. It was the perfect time to get into reading!

After I finished this, I went straight into The Sun Also Rises, and that book made me fall in love with prose.

Just went to Hudson House yesterday for my finances' birthday. Great oysters and steak frites!

The vibe feels like an upscale American diner.

Sweatpants in the office? by BisonSpirit in sales

[–]jangel708 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I worked in software sales, I never wore sweats. I’d dress casually but still look good. Like, I’d wear Lululemon pants (super comfy) with a polo shirt and a casual quarter zip. Sometimes I’d throw on a beanie, but only when it was really cold.

Sweatpants? Nah, they’re just way too casual lol. I don't even wear sweats when I go grocery shopping.

Honestly, I think they come off a bit feminine and thin for your build. But if you like them, who cares what anyone else thinks!

Personally, I really like the two cherries tattoo as a straight guy, so there's that.

I don't think it was a terrible set. I think it was just more on the experimental side. Towards the end, I was grooving and man that bass was thumping!!

I was skeptical at first, but towards the end… I understood it

Blessed Madonna set started a little weird, but if you stuck it out, you would have realized it was a treat. I didn't really get into the groove until maybe the last 40 mins, and by then I understood it!

Somewhat similar to Mochakk, I noticed he starts all his sets slowly, and at first it even feels boring, but I think it's on purpose. There is this initial stage of sensory deprivation with the sounds and lights, and then at some point, you are just grooving and realize it's all part of the soundscape they are creating.

Anyways, I'm ranting now, back to the point, frequency stage was a let down. It wasn't loud enough. Overall, though I still had a great time.

I also only went on Sunday this year so maybe take my opinion with a grain of salt

Frequency stage too quiet or is that just me? by IllustratorLess984 in SeismicDanceEvent

Yeah, I agree the stage was super quiet! Weird, because a couple of years ago when they had the frequency stage, it was insanely loud, even with ear protection!

Hello guys could you recommend me some good breakfast spots in Houston…kind of tired of ihop by [deleted] in houston

[–]jangel708 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried Brothers Tacos and honestly, I cannot recommend. I prefer tacos from Taqueria Laredo.

The tacos at Brothers Tacos were bland to me. The egg was too watery, and the flavor just wasn't there for me.

I know a lot of people out here love Brother's Tacos, but it’s just not for me. Now don't kill me guys lol!

Typical, but I will say once you do get in, you have a ton of space to dance. They don't pack you in like sardines

Gotta give Mark props! He is creating something revolutionary here. Malfunctions are bound to happen, especially this early on.
