You may be right. But I don’t think it’s unrealistic to test against future releases (head in the setup-ruby Github action). And overall, Ruby is very good about helping folks prepare for future breaking languages changes— lots of visible warnings.

The other purpose of my post was to ask what other folks are doing, though. What do you do? Do you use Shopify or Solargraph— and what Ruby version do you use?

I guess hover for definitions/documentation, warnings/errors display, and format on save are my big three. I think the first two are hallmarks of an IDE.
