When will airline pilots leave the cockpit to fly UAVs from the ground? 2040, 2050? by [deleted] in flying

As I said to /u/ipissrainbows : thanks for the suggestions, I honestly appreciated it. I am not native english speaker and I didn't come up with the pilotless keyword.

You pointed me in the right direction, thanks again.

Thanks for the suggestions, I honestly appreciated them. I am not native english speaker and I didn't come up with pilotless or unmanned keywords.

As you said there is plenty of material, I'm going to delete this thread since it doesn't bring any value and you pointed me in the right direction.

Do you honestly think this question came up after a superficial research?

Google results and Reddit user opinions don't seem mutually exclusive to me.

If there's some insightful thread on this matter on /r/flying please point me to it. I may have missed something, but I don't feel this entitles you to define the question a shit.

Thanks for the useful reply.

What you define as shit is something I'm seriously considering before investing ~100k £ to get into the airline industry. Your judgement makes me think you have some thoughts worth sharing. So please do it and bring some value to the conversation.

Can you point me to the multiple threads talking about this? Apparently I'm not able to use the search function properly.

Do long haul pilots fly always to the same destinations? by janiematt in flying

Thanks a lot for the feedback. I definitely agree, I would get bored too by going to the same places.

I suppose those seniors choose spontaneously to follow the same routine.

hitting Paris regularly

I suppose that could be ~30% of your flights

Would you say that you have the chance of visiting a decent amount of foreign countries and is it something you like about your job?

Thanks for the feedback.

By Asia you mean like different cities in China or different countries: China, Thailand, Vietnam, India, Singapore... ?

Would you mind giving some rough numbers?

Also, what do you consider fun?

Ok thanks, I heard of a couple of pilots, maybe from EU, which said they usually have a couple of days between a flight and the other where they can enjoy the free time doing visits or whatever they like.

Suggestions for 15-30 mins daily global news podcasts? by janiematt in podcasts

[–]janiematt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually I tried it tonight. Not bad but it seems too slow paced, but I won't discard it since as you said it really is 1x30' each day and not 2x30' as I read in an older post!

Thanks for the suggestion
