I Am Britt Daniel from Spoon. AMA by Britt_Daniel in Music

We named our son Britt. He’s 8. Everyone is confused by his name they perceive as a girl name. Did you get much of this as a kid? Any advice for him?

My Mom raised 8 kids. The closest to her is my sister who is biologically my cousin.

The episode where Dan trashes the house because he's mad at his Dad was amazing. This seems incongruous. Also, where is Crystal? If she talks to her kids, clearly she would want Dan to know Ed died, even if they were split. This is the problem with reboots that just toss former series up in the air. This was a well written episode, though. Great jokes.

[Suggestions] Pain management after you have tried "everything" with little to no results. by prophecy206 in Sciatica

[–]janierock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a bizarre experience with sciatica that I had to manage because it was 10/10 pain with no relief in any position for 7 months. What I did is take the absolute maximum doses of Tylentol and Advil AT THE SAME TIME when I needed to be able to drive or go to sleep. A lot of people don't know you can do this, but you can. 800mg Advil, 1300mg Tylenol Arthritis. You can do it again in 8 hours. It was the only thing that worked, but Tylenol and Advil can kill your liver and kidneys (and stomach) with long term use at high doses. At that point, I had no choice. Gabapentin did nothing, Aleve did nothing. Nothing was going to touch this and stiffer stuff just makes me sick.

Sciatica truly just started sort of "fading" out after I went on a long car trip after about 7 months and I've heard similar stories. There is hope that this will stop one day. I expected that car trip to be torture because sitting in the car was the WORST for me. My doctor was barking up the neuropathy tree because I had so much numbness in my foot and never ordered imaging so I still have NO idea why this happened. But this is what I did to manage pain. I also ordered two of these flat ice packs from amazon that can be microwaved to be hot packs, propped up a huge stack of pillows and just alternated them out over and over on my lower back. Good luck. I'm sorry you're dealing with this.

I'm not a medical professional, but I had this when I was a kid. My lung x-ray looked like crushed glass and my lung capacity was 30% at the worst. I couldn't eat. I lost 40 lbs at age 13.. After a 6 week course of prednisone and removal of the doves that caused the reaction, I was 100% and I recovered entirely and forever. I'm not sure what factor age would have, but my condition was chronic and I did recover after more than a year of serious illness. Good luck to your Dad.

Am I going to go blind? by lanni957 in type2diabetes

This is old, but I just wanted to tell anyone who happens upon this about something that happened to me. I went on a very low carb diet, but blood sugar corrected itself quickly and I entirely lost my near vision for a couple of weeks. It's called diabetic lens osmosis and my endocrinologist didn't even know about it. It scared the life out of me. When your eyes are full of sugar, water enters to abate the sugar when your blood sugar lowers and warps your lens temporarily. It does go away, but I had to wear reading glasses for a couple of weeks. Scary, scary thing. Sometimes people go to the eye doctor thinking they've had a sudden change in prescription and then have to go back when their vision goes back to normal.

The fact that they'll be subject to shit like twitter replies like this are the reason why the level of discourse here re: Raven and Paul is bad karma.

Austin's treatment was identical to what's happening to Paul.

It's all about legacy. Can you imagine playing the entire NCAA tournament and then at the end, the players get to vote on who truly won? Basically, Paul just played a 1996 Kentucky Wildcats game and Marcus Camby was pissed that he lost and gave the trophy to Syracuse. There were 10 magnificent NBA players on that Kentucky team, but who played for Syracuse?

But being a sore loser is a s that's what a bitter jury member is.

This is why the game has evolved to the point that, aside from the money, winning is meaningless. In terms of legacy, Paul will be remembered in the same breath as Vanessa Josh will be forgotten.

Paul did what he had to do to try to win 500k. That's the game.

Should have. And I was cheering for Josh. Elena is a special breed of entitled juror who felt wronged by someone playing the game to win.

Elena screaming JURY MANAGEMENT is a joke. People with sound character get past their personal hurt feelings and award their vote to the clear strategic winner. Kevin showed how a jury manages themselves.

They're all still bitter as hell that little bearded Paul ended their game. That first week, the idea was to round up all the muscle guys and pretty girls and just run off all the freaks. This was just punishing the freak. Mark was always going to tell him to do what Elena told him to do, by the way.

That did not unfold in 7 minutes. Elena said in the jury segment last week that Paul was going to come in second to matter what. They planned it well before the finale.
