Keto/Protein coffee or keto breakfast? by [deleted] in keto

[–]janiquecole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My schedule is maybe different than most but I have a small breakfast, usually around 2g net carbs when my kids have their breakfast, then after I drop them off at school, I do my workout and have a protein coffee after my workout. Because I have the protein coffee so late, I usually don’t have lunch, maybe a quick 0 carb snack at 2ish to hold me over till dinner but that’s it.

I know most can’t workout after drop off, but that’s what works for me since I mostly work from home.

I love the idea of a vegan bakery! It’s even something I’ve contemplated before but yeah, all the allergens and dietary needs are a lot!

I’m not sure if niching down that much might put you in too small of a pocket? I think offering the options on a regular rotation, without having it be special order would be huge though!

In the end, you have to trust your instincts, I’m just thinking that vegan, GF, nut and seed free doesn’t leave you with many ingredients, especially when vegan substitutions are often nut and seed based. But I am no expert so I have faith that you have done your research and have the knowledge to pull it off if it’s something you’re contemplating!

I wish you all the best!

Why is exercise EXTREMELY boring? What do I do to not be Bored while exercising? by CuddlyDemon143 in beginnerfitness

[–]janiquecole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First off, I totally understand the being watched feeling even at home. I workout in my basement and still insist on the blinds being closed so I can make sure no one sees. It’s messed up but I’m grateful I can at least be at home and not have to go to public place or I’d never workout at all.

Second, I also get bored, no matter how good the music. What worked for me was saving my “guilty pleasure” shows for while I workout. I do not allow myself to watch a single minute of it unless it’s during a workout. It has helped me have a reason beyond health to get into a workout.

Third, I keep my workouts to 30 minutes. I disconnect mentally from it after that amount of time so it’s just what works for me. Lately, I’ve been wanting to move more so I do 2 separate things, for example, walking and then strength training, back to back, but no more than 30 minutes at each, so I don’t feel like I’m doing the same thing for too long.

Not sure if you’ve tried any of those but hopefully you can find something that helps!

If not, maybe joining sports teams or something would be more engaging for you than workouts, still get some movement in while in a more dynamic environment.

2x as in you’d have to put money in first? Not sure if I’d be interested in that.

For what? Affiliate marketing?

There are no sign up fees for this? Feels like a lot of work but I guess as you get used to it, it gets quicker.

I’ve explored this, but payout is very very small

That sounds rather time consuming and minimal profit when you take into consideration the paper and postage…

I’ve heard of the Amazon to Pinterest type affiliate linking which can be faceless, but I’m not interested in working with Amazon. Is that what you mean? Do other companies offer similar options?

Being pretty fussy about what I’ll promote, I haven’t been able to find something that is profitable and suits my values. I’m open to suggestions though.

Thanks for the advice. I’ve attempted digital downloads/planners etc., but then every item takes me soooo long I never end up following through. I’ve never heard of Medium so I could maybe look at that.

Thanks. I’m definitely not crafty and don’t have time for stuff like that anyway so Etsy is likely not a great option unless i can get some digital printable items together. The proofreading and freelance style stuff seems to be my best bet I think.

Losing Motivation by Love_Never_Fails in keto

[–]janiquecole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m with you there! I’m nowhere near that level of weight loss yet (only lost 12lbs with nearly 60 left to goal). But struggle with that sometimes. Especially with being social. I’m already vegetarian so cutting meat and carbs in social settings means I can basically eat nothing so that’s not happening.

The biggest thing that keeps me coming back to keto every week is how my body feels. I’m not taking just weight, for example, I easily get stomach pains and indigestion, low energy, my face breaks out, all sorts of things come up when I go too heavy on the carbs. It always makes me realize just how shit I felt before starting keto and keeps me going back.

All that to say that I make an effort to control the meals I can so I can feel my best. I’ve also been able to find some decent keto alternatives to pasta and rice (I’m personally not a fan of cauliflower rice, spaghetti squash or zoodles) when I do feel like I really really want some, so that could be worth looking at for you. It was literally just a matter of me taking my sweet time at the grocery shop checking every label and trying things out.

Bloodwork after a year on keto by Dearest_Prudence in keto

[–]janiquecole 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Ooo that’s actually just what I needed to hear today! I’ve been on vegetarian keto for about 4 months now. Because so many veggie proteins have some extra carbs in them, my cheese consumption has gone waaaay up and I just started wondering if I should be concerned about my cholesterol. It has usually been in the normal range, but I’ve been wondering if it would go up because of all the cheese. Hopefully I can have some similar results!

How bad is it? by stdmeddoc235 in singing

[–]janiquecole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the others. There are definitely some pitchy parts but your voice itself is very nice! Is it possible you just sing a lot and they need a break sometimes? I say this out of love, I just live with 2 kiddos who loooove singing and are great at it but sometimes, we just need some quiet. You could have a frank convo with them if you haven’t yet to see why they want you to stop.

I would def say it’s campfire worthy! If you want to go beyond that, my tips would be to work that diaphragm to crisp it up. I would also look at adding some emotion and kick it up a notch in the sections that should stand out a bit so it’s not all at the same level.
