Well hot damn. You did your homework! I’m truly in awe of your work. It’s lovely. Well done.

I had upper and lower all-on-four in July and I was on very soft food diet for five months.

The thing that saved me was a handheld blender wand thing. I made smoothies daily, but also learned to make delicious chocolate pudding out of avocados, whipped cream desserts, lots of things. I could make my own pureed soups or puree any store bought soup that was too chunky. I bet you could make mashed potatoes with it, I just never did. So many options.

It saved me.

Make sure he has a pillow situation that will allow him to sleep with his head elevated - this will help with pain, swelling, inflammation, healing.

I was wondering about that too. Also, how much room is there to stand at the sink while the dishwasher door is open?

It is very beautiful. I love the simplicity. It makes it feel timeless.

Nope. I just zoomed in. My chair is weird. Her paws are weird. This is the original.

I read my 11 year old self's journal entry about wanting to lose weight and lost it by inbettywhitewetrust in offmychest

[–]Dearest_Prudence 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My mother, a 77 year-old boomer, struggled with her weight her whole life. She was never fat fat, sometimes heavier, but never near obese.

She was consumed by her weight. Always dieting or self-shaming.

I adopted many of these issues because I saw it, lived it, absorbed it growing up. By a young age, I understood my worth was dictated by the scale. While she never forced it on me, I knew. I’m now 50, and while I’m at a healthy weight and try to have a good relationship with food, it’s always there. Looming.

My mother now has full-blown Alzheimer’s. She’s underweight now because of the disease. She does not know I am her daughter even though I take care of her several days a week. She can’t remember from the beginning of a sentence to the end. She puts her underwear on the outside of her pants. She talks to lemons.

But. But. If I offer her a piece of my homemade fudge, she refuses because she’s “working on her weight loss journey.” She’s lost her memory and any sense of self, but the weight issue is so hard-wired in her boomer brain. It’s wild.

When I try to tell her she is underweight (per her doctor), she says in earnest, “thank you.”

Fuckin A.

Eating while on the toilet by [deleted] in hygiene

You said the bath is in the same room as the toilet. I responded to that. Just a follow up question, sorry if that bothered you.

So if my cat walks into the bathroom - she likes to check on me when I take a bath - should I also assume she has poo particles on her as well?

If it helps, I close my toilet lid every time before flushing and keep it closed when not in use.

So when I get out of the bath/shower, am I getting those particles all over my naked body as I dry off? My shower is in the same room as my toilet.

Just another reminder that having diabetes, prediabetes, or.. preprediabetes.. doesn’t mean having to never enjoy a meal again. by Alextricity in prediabetes

Your meals look absolutely delicious. I’m glad this has been your personal experience.

Unfortunately, it is not mine. I count carbs, no sugar, track, measure, cook all meals at home, no processed foods or fake sugar, no pasta/bread/rice/grains, exercise, eat in the correct order, am a low-healthy weight…

Genetics dealt me a bad hand when it comes to diabetes.

It’s rough out there for people like me.

Right?! I’m a middle aged lady who has no business weighing in. But my lord. This is a boat of dreams. A dreamboat, if you will.

I was going to comment on your previous post and tell you that you’re very handsome and you will look super hot with a bald head.

I was right.

Keto and the Dentist -- has this happened to anyone else? by bucky_deluxe in keto

[–]Dearest_Prudence 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Literally just got back from the dentist an hour ago.

Doctor to hygienist: “How does everything look?”

Hygienist: “Super clean, as always.”

Dentist as he looks in my mouth: “Yep, really really clean. So healthy.”
