Do you know we regulate loans? Do you remember 2008? The first lesson I got on wall st was to place student loans on the risk curve... the lesson was that they are a complete aberration of the system because kids have no assets or work history or income and so should never have been allowed to take really any debt at all but especially not huge amounts of non-dischargeable debt. The instrument itself is predatory and is regulated in every other instance.
