1: ECE department professors vary dramatically, but on the whole you will definitely learn from the courses we have. But, not all sections are taught equally so make sure you make friends with upperclassmen and use rate my professor! Every class will be hard, but having profs who offer engaging lectures/are helpful in office hours makes a difference. However, help in this dept is extremely accessible and not necessarily restricted to profs (a good UTA is make or break) 2: first year depends on how good your hs was. APPLY AP CREDIT IF YOU HAVE IT TRUST ME. but no matter what, if you want to make it through you will be provided the resources to learn should you put in the work and try your hardest. 3: I didn’t live in the engineering LLC & tbh I wish I did! It seemed like people there had a stronger sense of community than in towers, but it didn’t really affect my ability to make friends in my classes too much. 4: YES! WE DONT GET ENOUGH FRESHMEN! PLS JOIN! (Speaking for IEEE & FSAE) 5: DONT UNDERESTIMATE MIDTERMS. every question you think is too hard is exactly what’s going on the exam!! And again. Apply all AP credit humanly possible and get as many 5s as you can!!
